QEDC StartUP! Competition
The StartUP! Competition is a 4-month program run by the Queens Economic Development Council for Queens-based startup founders and small business entrepreneurs who are at the early stages of developing their businesses.

Participants are provided with high level entrepreneurial classes, a diverse peer-to-peer community, support from QEDC advisors & mentors and four $10,000 grants. Applications will be accepted through March 1, 2021.

816 New York: Strategic Support for Restaurants
The team at 816 New York has been in the trenches with restaurants in crisis for over a decade. In 2020, by following their strategic advice, a restaurant client saw a 148% increase in gift card sales with 143% more gift cards sold. Their latest event did nearly $12,000 in revenue—all takeout on a single day.

816 New York understands the struggles restaurants are going through and are giving back.

Open Call for Artists! LIC Is a Galaxy
Applications are now open for our new public art project, LIC is a Galaxy. We are embarking on an exciting new public art project which uses cosmic themes to represent the diversity and unity of Long Island City.

We are seeking 4 to 5 Queens-based artists to each paint 4 to 5 provided 18” diameter spheres with a vibrant design to encourage LIC residents and visitors to walk along the streets and spot all the unique “planets” in our galaxy.

*NEW* Queens Small Business Grant Program - The Queens Small Business Grant program is a $17.5 million initiative launched in partnership with NYC Economic Development Corporation and other community partners. Grants up to $20,000 are available for qualifying Queens small business and vendors. Click here for more information and to apply.
