Long Island City Partnership’s signature festival, LIC Springs!, returns Monday, June 14 through Sunday, June 20, reimagined as LIC Springs to Summer!, a play on its new dates at the convergence of the seasons. The week-long celebration, showcases happenings, promotions, and performances across Long Island City.
 
The LIC Passport (available at pick up points this June) includes details on all of the week’s experiences (talks, art instillations, speaking engagements, tours and more), LIC facts, maps, and a host of offerings ranging from personal services to dinner deals from the neighborhood’s top eateries.


LIC Partnership thanks Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer for his continued support of LIC Springs.
Support Culture Lab LIC By Donating Electronic Equipment
LICP Member Culture Lab LIC is seeking donations to help furnish its outdoor stage and indoor performance and art space. The organization provides space for community food relief organizations as well as launching socially-distanced outdoor entertainment in the Plaxall Gallery parking lot on 46th Avenue. Donations are tax-deductible through its fiscal sponsor Hunters Point Parks Conservancy (501 (c) (3) pending). Culture Lab LIC also has sponsorship opportunities for its main stage, food truck as well as other options. See the donation list here.
Queens Tech Night (Outside) Returns June 9
Queens Tech Night returns on Wednesday, June 9, taking place at the Culture Lab LIC parking lot. LICP is delighted to be one of the hosts of the event, which seeks to celebrate and grow the technology and design community in the borough. The event will feature keynotes from industry leaders, demos by startups and hackers, and networking with interesting leaders and tinkerers from around the city. Follow updates for this event here.
Memorial Day Block Party at Flux Factory
Flux Factory is hosting a Block Party as the opening event for Din Din, a series of free, socially-distanced outdoor public events that use food and art to build community. There will be a cooking demo, DJ performance and various exhibitions. See the list of participants here.

We are currently hiring a Project Manager for our Community Development team. This role reports directly to the the President of LICP. Duties include data research and tracking, website management, survey creation and project planning. Applicants should have at least 1-2 years of data analysis, urban planning, real estate and/or economic development experience. Apply here.
May 20: Join LICP’s Restaurant Revitalization Fund Webinar (3:30-5:30pm)
This informative session will provide guidance for businesses interested in applying for RRF, including restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and breweries. The grant, which does not have to be repaid, could cover revenue loss in 2020 and more. This webinar will cover the following topics, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about eligibility, the application process, required documents, grant amounts, use of funds, cross program eligibility with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG), and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). COVID-19 Updates
Reopening and Recovery Updates:
 
Beginning May 19:
  • Restaurants, museums, theaters, retail stores and other businesses will be allowed to reopen at full capacity, as long as six feet of social distancing space is maintained
Expected July 1:
  • Both Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo have announced a July 1 target date for NYC to 'reopen'
Through August 31:
  • Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill into law on Tuesday May 4, including the measure extending the eviction moratorium to Aug. 31.
*NEW* COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Expanded:
  • All New Yorkers 12 years of age and older are now eligible to be vaccinated. People who work or study in New York are also eligible. Most City-run sites are offering walk-up vaccinations for New Yorkers. You do not need an appointment at these sites. You can also schedule an appointment for certain vaccination sites by calling 877-VAX-4NYC (877-829-4692). Note, people who are 12 to 17 years old can only receive the Pfizer vaccine.
 
Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Application Deadline May 31
After a two month extension, the deadline for PPP applications is drawing near. We encourage businesses to submit their applications as soon as possible. Please see the updated information below:

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Update
The SBA will provide $5 billion in additional Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) assistance to one million small businesses and nonprofit organizations that have been most severely impacted by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective April 22, the SBA modified the Targeted EIDL Advance loan application process to determine if businesses also qualify for an additional $5,000 available under the new Supplemental Targeted Advance loan program. Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) Update
If you have not done so already, please apply. The SBA announced that eligible eating establishments have until Monday, May 24, 8 p.m. ET, to submit applications. If you have any questions about your eligibility or how to apply please contact Osagie at [email protected].
 
Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) Application – The SBA SVOG program reopened for applications on Monday, April 26. The $16 billion grant program provides emergency assistance for eligible venues affected by COVID-19. Eligible applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for eligible applications with up to 50 full-time employees. *New* Commercial District Recovery Safety Plan – The Mayor's Office of Recovery, SBS, and the Office of Nightlife have launched a new localized, multi-agency, coordinated approach to address safety and quality of life issues in the City’s business districts to aid in recovery. The Commercial District Recovery Safety Plan (CDRSP) will center on BIDs’ expertise in providing local knowledge and problem spotting and will bring together all relevant City agencies in the same room.
