Join Us! Community Planting Day - November 21
|
We are very excited to announce our upcoming fall community volunteer day to plant tulip bulbs in 90 tree pits across the streets of the LIC Business Improvement District. But we need your help!
Volunteers are needed for November 21st to plant in two shifts, there are currently only shifts left from 12:30PM-2:30PM

LIC Holiday Decoration Competition!
|
This holiday season we are also hosting a Holiday Decoration Competition amongst LIC businesses! The competition will run from Monday, November 23 - Tuesday, December 15. The public will vote by scanning a QR code at your location and selecting their favorite display to vote for.
Remix Market NYC has generously offered a 30% discount to participating businesses to purchase any decorations they would like to use in the competition. To use this discount, let us know and stay tuned for additional details.
Participating businesses will be entered into a raffle to win 2 roundtrip JetBlue tickets.

*NEW* Governor Cuomo enacts new restrictions statewide – Today Governor Cuomo announced that starting this Friday, November 13 New York bars, restaurants and gyms must close at 10pm. Private parties will also be limited to 10 or less people in an effort for curb the rising COVID-19 infection rate. *NEW* Commercial Fleet Safety Program – The FOCUS program offered by the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services and Together for Safer Roads aims to help small to mid-sized fleets (2-100 vehicles) build safety cultures. Ten fleets will be chosen to participate in the year-long program with access to free consulting, coaching and technology in these areas:

Leadership – Management level employees will attend workshops on building safety cultures and personnel management

Training & Development – Training is provided for management and drivers on defensive driving and other safety best practices

Technology – Learn how to use technology and data measure progress and provide objective feedback

LIC BID Annual Meeting - Virtual Event
|
|
Wednesday, November 18th at 9am
Join the Long Island City Business Improvement District for our 15th Annual Meeting as we report on services over the past year, including during COVID-19, discuss plans for the future, review financials, elect directors of the board, and present awards. The virtual event will also feature special remarks from NYC Small Business Services Commissioner Jonnel Doris.
This event is open to the public and free to attend with advanced registration. However, in order to vote at the meeting you must:
- Be eligible- either a property owner, commercial tenant or resident in district outlines in the map below AND

Be registered- register online at licqns.com/licbidmemberregister as a voting member by November 8th. If you have registered as a voting member in previous and your eligibility has not changed, you do not have to register again.
