Join Us This Saturday! Community Planting Day
We are very excited to announce our upcoming fall community volunteer day to plant tulip bulbs in 90 tree pits across the streets of the LIC Business Improvement District. But we need your help!

Volunteers are needed for November 21st to plant in two shifts, there are currently only shifts left from 12:30PM-2:30PM

5241 Center Blvd Housing Lottery - Deadline 11/23
LICP Member TF Cornerstone’s (TFC) 5241 Center Blvd is in the final stages of accepting applications for the affordable housing lottery. Those interested can apply through NYC Housing Connect until November 23. In total, 185 affordable units are available, with preference for 50% of affordable units given to residents of Queens Community Board 2.

 At 5241 Center Blvd, residents can enjoy access to building amenities such as laundry facilities, a roof terrace, bike storage, and more. Additionally, residents are steps away from all the park has to offer including bike paths, a kayak launch, playgrounds, and more.

LIC Holiday Decoration Competition!
This holiday season we are also hosting a Holiday Decoration Competition amongst LIC businesses! The competition will run from Monday, November 23 - Tuesday, December 15. The public will vote by scanning a QR code at your location and selecting their favorite display to vote for.

Remix Market NYC has generously offered a 30% discount to participating businesses to purchase any decorations they would like to use in the competition. To use this discount, let us know and stay tuned for additional details.

Participating businesses will be entered into a raffle to win 2 roundtrip JetBlue tickets.

LIC BID Annual Meeting - Recap
This morning we held the Long Island City Business Improvement District's 15th Annual Meeting where we reported on services over the past year, including during COVID-19, discussed plans for the future, reviewed financials, elected directors of the board, and presented awards. We also had special remarks from NYC Small Business Services Commissioner Jonnel Doris.

COVID-19 Updates
*NEW* Open Restaurants New Guidance for Businesses - Last week new guidance on the Ope Restaurants program was announced. These guidelines include the below that are effective starting on December 15.
  • All 18” roadway barriers must be completely filled with soil or sand
  • Barriers must have a fully built interior wall and bottom to hold filler material
  • Continuous reflector tape must be added along the top outside edges, and snow sticks must be added to the corners of the two barriers facing traffic
