Halloween + Marathon Weekend in LIC

It's a busy weekend in LIC with both Halloween and the NYC Marathon!

Trick-Or-Treat in LIC

Plan your trick-or-treat route using our map of local businesses offering drop-in trick-or-treating on Halloween day.

The fun doesn't stop there! Join LICP and the LIC BID on Saturday, October 31 from 3-5 pm for trick-or-treating along a closed Vernon Boulevard, with a special performance by The Only Bay All Stars!

Don't rest yet! Sunday is the New York City Marathon which runs straight through Long Island City.

Check the route and choose your spot to cheer on this year's runners!

Real Halloween Stories of LIC

“The Shattered Chandelier” – 1854

By Bob Singleton, Executive Director, Greater Astoria Historical Society

"Bodine Castle, once at 43rd Road and Vernon Blvd, was a massive creation, built of granite, with towers and gates mimicking an impregnable fortress, and was, without a doubt, the most eye-catching of the Victorian homes that once lined the waterfront. Inside, a sparkling imported French chandelier, visible from the street, held court over the dining room."
