After having two surgeries in 2022, Brenda wanted to get stronger and get back into exercise so she joined LIFT. Since becoming a member, her cholesterol has dropped, she is stronger and feels great. "I love my sessions with Michelle! She exceeded my goal of getting my legs and core stronger." Brenda loves the kickboxing and cycling classes and enjoys meditation during Yoga. When not here at LIFT, Brenda loves spending time with her grand fur babies.

Breakfast for Busy Mornings


Back to school is in full swing, and whether you have little ones getting back into a routine or you're looking for ways to power up your mornings, breakfast is a sure fire way to make your day easier. Get the morning nutrition you need with these quick breakfast ideas.


  • Instant oatmeal: Make it with fat-free or low-fat milk instead of water. Toss in raisins or dried cranberries and chopped walnuts. Or mix in ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce and sprinkle with apple pie spice or cinnamon.
  • Yogurt parfait: Layer fat-free or low-fat plain yogurt with your crunchy cereal and blueberries.
  • Breakfast smoothie: Blend low-fat milk, frozen strawberries and a banana.
  • Toaster waffle: Toast and top with nut butter and apple slices.
  • Pita egg sandwich: Stuff a whole-wheat pita with a sliced, hard-cooked egg and low-fat shredded cheese.
  • Banana roll-up: Spread peanut butter on a whole-wheat tortilla. Add a peeled, whole banana and roll it up.
  • Bagel and veggies: Spread hummus on a whole-grain toasted bagel. Top with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes.
  • English muffin: Add lean ham and low-fat Swiss cheese to a toasted whole-grain English muffin.


If your taste buds just don't crave breakfast foods, try these:

  • Deli turkey, a slice of low-fat cheese and lettuce wrapped in a tortilla.
  • Leftover quinoa or brown rice mixed with low-fat yogurt, dried fruit and nuts. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

We are excited to introduce our new Health Educator for LIFT Weight Management, Grace Roberts!


Grace is originally from St. Louis, MO but currently resides in Brownsville, TN. She received her Bachelors in Athletic Training while playing collegiate volleyball at Union University.


She serves as the source of knowledge for all things HMR and weight loss, leading the weekly Group Classes, preparing food demos, and helping patients in the program be successful with weight loss AND long-term weight management.

CROSSFIT SPOTLIGHT : POLLY WHITTEN


Congratulations to Polly for winning GOLD at the National Senior Games!


Polly competed with her senior basketball team in Pittsburgh, PA. She has been a member of CrossFit LWC since December 2022. You can see her in many of LIFT’s classes (both on land and water) and in CrossFit at noon. Polly says that CrossFit has helped her “build a stronger core, upper body and strength in my legs” which has helped when she plays basketball.
