Q: When did you Join LIFT and why?

A: I moved to Jackson almost a year and half ago. I moved for work and knew no one so wanted to find a place I could meet people but also regain a healthier lifestyle. I toured LIFT and knew it was the place for me. LIFT has everything one could ever need, all under one roof. Since I first joined, I have lost 60 pounds and have set the goal to lose 50 more.

Q: What do you like best about LIFT?

A: A few of my favorite things here at LIFT include the walking track, the pools, Exercise is Medicine, and the LIFT HMR Program. I love that the LIFT is close to my house (within 5 minutes) and all the staff at LIFT have been instrumental in helping me reach my goals. THE LIFT HMR Program has helped me with my diet and learning portion sizes. I love the accountability it brings. The Exercise is Medicine Program has helped me with my workouts and then after finishing, I started with a personal trainer. I just keep growing here at LIFT.

Q: How has being part of LIFT improved your life outside of the gym?

A: The biggest change I have found has to be the overall positivity I have gained within myself. I wake up every day and have much more positive outlook on life. I often feel that LIFT Wellness truly saved my life in more ways than one. I joined LIFT with the goal of simply getting out of the house and maybe losing a little weight, and now, I continue to grow and benefit from being a member here.

Q What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining LIFT?

A: You have to commit! If you don’t have that driving desire, then you won’t continue in the rough and mundane times. Find that thing that motivates you to become better, and then let the LIFT come along side you and help you achieve your goals! LIFT Wellness has done that for me, and I am positive they can do it for you too.

Q. Why did you decide to start personal training?

A. I complained about having no upper body strength and poor balance but wasn’t sure what to do. I never thought about a personal trainer, but a friend was going to Megan, and I knew she was getting results. I decided to try a personal trainer for a few reasons.

First, if I have an appointment with someone I will be there,

Second, I realize the importance of proper form when weight training and a trainer would ensure that and

Third, I’ve proven I won’t push myself, but a trainer will. 

Q. What have you gained since working with a trainer?

A. I started with Megan in January.

I love to travel so I told Megan my goal was to lift my 25lb carryon roller bag up into the airplane bin without help. She incorporated exercises to achieve that. Now I do that with ease. It wasn’t long before I started feeling stronger and that motivated and excited me.  

Megan has a great personality and really makes it fun. She also changes up the exercise routines, so it never gets boring.  I can tell I’m much stronger and can see muscle definition I never had before. My balance has also improved. Thats a great feeling. 

Q. What would you say to someone thinking about hiring a trainer here at LIFT?

A. I highly recommend a personal trainer and Megan is the best! We all naturally lose muscle as we age.  I want to be able to take care of myself, doing the things I enjoy for as long as possible. I believe personal training (combined with some healthier food choices). is the answer to this. Megan is a great trainer, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their physical health.

Hello everyone! My name is Natalie Idzik. I am thrilled to be working with the LIFT Weight Management Program as the HMR Administrative Manager. I have worked with HMR for over 20 years, and have helped many, many people lose weight, while improving their health and quality of life.  In addition to working with HMR, I am a busy mom of two children, and love spending time outdoors walking, hiking, fishing, or playing pickleball! I would love the opportunity to support you with your weight and health goals, so please don't hesitate to reach out!
