HI Lions and Friends,

Well I'm sure most of you have heard by now that I had a tuff couple weeks with my health! But in case you didn't, I had to go in and have a pacemaker installed to correct low blood pressure issues!  Not how I expected to spend the last few weeks but sometimes things don't go as we plan!!  Today I feel Bionic! New motherboard installed and now they really are watching me online

with a monitor to be sure the pacemaker is working as expected! Technology is amazing! Many of you have had this before me, as you have let me know not to worry because you know the process! Thank You for your kind words and flowers and calls to make sure i'm still trudging along! THANK YOU!

Anyway, all is good with me today and I hope for another 25 years or so except for a battery change! LOLOL

Back to Lions......

We are finishing up preparations for the TET parade in Westminster on January 10th and getting ready to be in the parade with lions from Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Seal Beach, with the hopes of recruiting new members for a NEW Vietnamese club in Westminster, and some new local members for the other 3 clubs as well!

This is exciting and I want to thank a few people that have been on the forefront of this project. GLT coordinator Kurt Bensworth, Garden Grove President Lynda Durand, Garden Grove Lion Lam Pham, Huntington Beach Lion Ray Walls who donated money for the Float, Steve Christy for getting the trailer, Mary Holland for getting the Seal Beach Van to be in the parade as well and other club members from all the clubs YOU GUYS ROCK!! Thank You!

I hope your all preparing to go to the MD 4 Convention in Riverside on the 23-25 of February it's going to be a great time with fellow Lions from all over the state and we have a big vote to take for some potential constitution changes and an ID candidate one being our District ENDORSED CANDIDATE 4-L4 Mark Piva. Having an ID from our District is a big deal and will help in the future!  If you are voting, please plan to be at the district Caucus on Saturday so we can discuss the issues on the ballot and everyone is informed before you vote!  This is one of those things that as Lions allow us to make changes in our district and Lions in general or keep things we like the same! But you gotta Vote whether we agree or not!  This is the time for your Voice!

Lastly we are into the second half of the year and Myself, Scotty, Roger are trying to make visits to as many Club Projects as we can fit in the schedule, so please make sure Diane knows your dates so we can add to our calendar!

Keep up the Great job of serving your communities, I am inspired by all of you that serve everyday with a kind heart and passion to help those less fortunate

YOU ARE AWESOME!

DELEGATES FOR MD4 CONVENTION

Please remember that delegates for the MD4 convention MUST be done online on LCI no paper forms will be accepted. Only the club secretary or club president can enter. LCI has opened the site and you can now enter, please be sure to print out the confirmation and send to your delegates as they will need this along with ID to vote.

The Governors of California and the Council Chair have a process if your club has Alternates for voting:

Make a list of your delegates to include full name and member ID #

Should you need to have one of your alternates vote please be sure to get in touch right away with DG Drew or CC Craig so they can go with the Alternate to the credential room and sign to have the alternate vote, they will need to know which original delegate they are replacing so that person can be removed. Please be advised once this is done the original person will be unable to vote!!

Send the list to ALL of the following:

COUNCIL CHAIR CRAIG DURAND (LIONCRAIG4L4@GMAIL.COM)

COUNCIL SECRETARY ELISA COYLE (LIONEBCOYLE@GMAIL.COM)

DISTRICT GOVERNOR DREW SASSER (PERSONGIFTS@GMAIL.COM)

PDG's are a seperate vote and do not need to be listed as a delegate. MD4 has a list of all PDG's, they will also need ID to vote!

If you need help entering please contact Lion Diane.

Every club has eligible delegates to vote, and with the convention being in our own backyard (Riverside) we encourge every club to send your delegates to vote. Your club secretary or president can go online to see how many delegates your club has.

All delegates MUST register for the convention, the cost is $30 for Sunday only!

To Register go to https://md4lions.org/convention, scroll down to ONLINE REGISTRATION CLICK ON THAT AND REGISTER!
