ORANGE COUNTY KOREAN AMERICAN LIONS - RISE AGAINST HUNGER PROJECT
TIME CHANGE TO 1PM TO 5PM
Come join the Orange Country Korean American Lion's Club on January 12th (beginning 1pm) at Los Coyotes Country Club for a fun and meaningful afternoon of laughter, banging gongs, physical activity while packing 30,000 food packs to be sent to hungry children in 2025. OCKA Lion's Club is looking for about 120 volunteers to help pack the dry food so it can be shipped to feed hungry children in needy countries under the Food for Hunger campaign. Bring your spouses/partners, family members, children and friends. It is both a fun and meaningful activity and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Happiest of Holidays to all Lions of district 4l4 and your families, I hope you had a wonderful time with family and friends.
I understand the last few months have been busy for all Lions. As
we start the new year, we have several big events upcoming on the same day. First, we have the Melvin Jones luncheon where we will celebrate some great Lions that will be recognized with their first or progressive Melvin Jones award and others that will be recognized for their continued wonderful contributions. This will take place on January 12th starting at 11 a.m. at Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel (RSVP ONLY no walk-ins). On the same day, we have the OC Korean Rise for Hunger project at the Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park where we will be packaging 40,000 meals. No matter which event you attend fun, and fellowship will be had by all Lions. The Rise for hunger project is still seeking Lions and guests to help pack the food provisions so sign up today at the link above.
Kudos to Lion Kurt Bensworth for getting a new Branch club off the ground and when they charter it will be known as the “Irvine Lions Club. An added shout out to Lion John Schroeder and Lion Kevin Young for being the Guiding Lions for the new club. The branch club
currently has six members and when they reach the magic number of ten, they will then become their own Lions Club. Recently the club voted in their executive officers, so let us give them a warm welcome into the 4L4 pride.
The district is looking for energetic and enthusiastic members to become a guiding lion, these Lions will help other potential new clubs and/or challenged clubs in the areas of membership/service. There are two ways that you can become a Guiding Lion, and the first way

Next, in the very near future we will be holding a guiding Lions training locally so stay tuned news should be coming shortly.
The first six months of the Lions year have flown by, and the district team would just like to say thanks to all the clubs that we have visited for all your hospitable and gracious support toward our talented team. We are excited about what the next six months will culminate for this wonderful district.

Bring pajamas for Spring donations to OC Children and Family Services, We are also collecting backpack supplies for the Peppermint Ridge Special Needs home.
