Good day Lions…and yes, I am Pastor District Governor
Steve Lacey and it is my honor to serve as our
LCIF District Coordinator.
Who does what you might ask? My job is to reach out
to our clubs and individual Lions and educate them about
what is we do through the funds raised for the Lions Club
International Foundation. It is hoped by so doing, I can
help motivate them to give generously to LCIF which
can then fund service projects locally, nationally and
around the world.
Our District can be proud that we are already one of
the strongest giving districts in the entire Constitutional
area (United States and the Bahamas). In fact, last
year LCIF set a goal for us to raise $31,185 but we came
nowhere near that amount, instead, we raised
$61,546 (or 197% of our goal)!
We hope to do the same this year…as we hope too once
again be a 100% District (every club having donated
to LCIF), inspire some clubs to be 100% clubs, talk to
individuals about what Legacy gifts are, AND OF COURSE
DON’T LET ME FORGET TO MENTION THIS…
speak on making donations to LCIF to gain Melvin Jones
Fellowships and Progressives for your deserving club
Members.
Any questions you have about LCIF…please don’t hesitate
to contact me by phone, 909 921-6560 or e-mail
You May Not Realize It…
But The Time Is NOW!
‘Now’…that is, if you are planning to give out
either a Melvin Jones Fellowship or a Progressive
MJF between now and the January MJF Luncheon.
That is because of difficulties that resulted from
the new Lion technology system, the time frame
for sending in your donations, having them
credited to your account and then processing
your plaque and pin, has now become months
rather than weeks!
So do some thinking….and look ahead to see who
you want to recognize or honor in this special
way.
If you need help on just how to do that…or to
learn what your personal or club LCIF balance
is, just contact me, and I will do all that I
can to help.
With a Spirit to Serve,
Lion PDG Steve Lacey,
LCIF District Coordinator
