MESSAGE FROM OUR 2023-2024 DISTRICT GOVERNOR DREW

Hello Lions friends and family!

Today I am officially the Governor of the best district in all of Lions! At least in my not so humble opinion, I am so proud that you have given me this opportunity.

As a lion of 30 years I have thought about this many times, I was asked by many PDG’s to run many times but until 3 years ago, I just wasn’t ready to step up. Business, Family, and just my own selfishness kept me from doing what I always knew, I would one day want to do! But alas Here we go!

I am an eternal Optimist; I believe there is nothing that can’t be accomplished if a group of like-minded individuals’ group together with one goal or mission! We can truly accomplish remarkable things

As a district we have a lot of needs and our communities have many more, but I assure you we “CAN” make a huge impact in all these areas. This year I will be asking clubs to go beyond where they are now to look at the way you are doing things, what is no longer relevant and weather they still make sense in this changing environment. People have looked at there lives after the Covid scare and said there must be more to life than this and they are wanting to help the world be a better place.

That’s where Lions Clubs come in!

Focus your club on service, get involved with your city and the surrounding community, ask how you can help, roll up your sleeves and DO IT!  But… ask your friends and family to join you in that service, do not ask them to join the club until they can truly see the service you do, then they will be asking you to join!

I am excited about the future or our District and our Organization and look forward to working with all of you in the next year! Remember that enthusiasm is contagious be excited about what your clubs are doing and show the world that “Where there’s a Need, There’s a Lion!

See you after we return form the International Convention in Boston, I can’t wait to share the President’s message and goals for this year!

God Bless

District Governor.

Alan “Drew” Sasser

LCIF

Wants to ask you a Question

What About a Monthly Gift?

Starting with our very successful Campaign 100 (that raised over $300 million dollars for our Lion’s Charitable work), LCIF started reaching out to not only clubs, but individual Lions.

They reached out with this request: what about making a monthly gift to LCIF for say $10 or $20 a month (more if you care too). It can be set up to be an automatic charge to your credit card…and can be stopped at any time, if you no longer wish to give.

You would not believe, how over time that amount grows (which will apply to a future MJF) and benefits our Lion work.

If you would like to find out how to do this, just contact our LCIF Coordinator, Lion PDG Steve Lacey, sllacey54@gmail.com and he will walk you through the process.

With a Spirit to Serve,

Lion PDG Steve Lacey

EZSR

EZ Service Report for 4L4

We will again be using the EZSR a way that ANYONE can report service projects in your clubs!

Any Lion can go to the EZSR link and report the service project details including name, date and number of people and hours served. Use this tool instead anytime.

Let’s work together to meet our district

goal of 100% reporting in 4L4!

We are Lions Changing the World!!

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE UPDATE

Ronald McDonald House Orange County is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they will stay, their next meal or transportation to and from the hospital and/or appointments.

OTHER WAYS YOUR CLUB CAN HELP RONALD MC DONALD HOUSE

The House is still under construction (and currently housing families in a hotel) but there are still opportunities to

support the house. They are in need of many items including gift cards to offer to the families. Please see the attached Wish List.

They are also looking for clubs to fill snack bags for the families to offer convenient items to snack on while they are in

the hotel. Please see the attached Snack Bag Flyer.

There is also the opportunity for clubs to bring a family style, catered meal to the hotel on Mondays, Wednesdays or

Fridays.

And you can keep collecting your pull tabs. The House is not currently accepting pull tabs, but i will collect them at every district meeting and turn them in as soon as possible.
