Lions of District 4L4,
The Student Speaker Contest is 87 years old. The Foundation has been providing Scholarships to the winners of the District, Area and Final contest for over 60 years.
This year $99,000 will be given away to the students. Each of the 14 District are asked to raise $7,100
I would like to ask each District 4L4 club to consider the Student Speaker Foundation when your clubs decide what organization to provide donations to. As individuals please think about the foundation.
There are 4 Fellowships they are $200 Harry J Aslan, $300 Dwight Stanford, $400 Don Snyder $500 Fred W Smith - You can honor a member of your club with one of these fellowships.
If your club can’t afford a Fellowship no amount is too small. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
At the upcoming Region, District and Area Contest I will be selling raffle tickets for $1 each which will entitle you for a chance to win one of the Fellowships.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Lion Carol Linehan 4L4 Student Speaker Foundation Trustee

Fellow Lions,
I am pleased to announce that Lions Day at the City of Hope is coming back! Please mark your calendars for May 19th. The event starts at 11:30 and wraps up after lunch. The event is free to all, and includes tours and lectures on the latest research from the hospital staff. If you plan to attend, you absolutely need to RSVP, or you won't be able to attend the luncheon. Please contact Cindy Robinson via email or phone. Her contact information is at the bottom of the flyer. It is also an opportunity for each club to present a cash donation to the City of Hope and receive recognition. The amount is up to each club and is voluntary. This is the first time since covid the City of Hope has put this on, so let's have a great turnout!

A New Challenge From LCIF
For the Clubs of District 4L4
Lions and clubs of District 4L4….
our overall LCIF giving level is great!
Now let’s go one step further
and become a 100% District.
To do that…ALL THAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN
is for each club in the district to make a donation
to LCIF.
And get this, the amount that must be given? $20 minimum.
That’s right, $20!
Of course, your club could give $50, $100, or $1000
if they like, but $20 is what we need.
There are still nine (9) clubs in our district
that we need a donation from.
Can you please talk to your boards and club members
and make this happen?
Need more details: Lion PDG Steve Lacey [email protected]
