THE VALUE OF REPORTING SERVICE

At our District Meeting last weekend, our District GLT PDG Mark Piva spoke about the value of succession planning at the club level. As clubs begin the nomination process for next year's slate of officers and directors you might want to take the time and put a succession plan in place. Part of this process is doing a

club-level assessment.

Click here for a copy of the Club Assessment

Reporting service projects can be done in a handful of steps in MYLION or you can report via the EZSR below.

Ronald McDonald House

HOW YOUR CLUB CAN HELP RONALD MC DONALD HOUSE

The House is still under construction (and currently housing families in a hotel) but there are still opportunities to support the house.

They are in need of many items including gift cards to offer to the families. Please see the attached Wish List.

They are also looking for clubs to fill snack bags for the families to offer convenient items to snack on while they are in the hotel. Please see the attached Snack Bag Flyer.

There is also the opportunity for clubs to bring a family style, catered meal to the hotel on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.

And you can keep collecting your pull tabs. The House is not currently accepting pull tabs so please hold on to them for now. Or they may also be donated to another House location.

EZSR

EZ Service Report for 4L4

We are excited to roll out our NEW and EASY way that ANYONE can report service projects in your clubs! The new tool is called EZSR which means Easy Service Reports. Any Lion can go

to the EZSR link and report the service project details including name, date and number of people and hours served. Any projects reported to EZSR will be credited directly to your club,

no need for your club Secretary or Administrator to report to MyLion, it’s already done! Please share the link and scan code to all of your club service project chairs and members to ensure

your service gets COUNTED! We will share printed promotional items at our first District meeting on August 6 so you can promote this new tool! Let’s work together to meet our district

goal of 100% reporting in 4L4! Together We Can!

CALIFORNIA LIONS FREINDS IN SIGHT

RESTORING VISION - PREVENTING BLINDNESS.

Together, We Make Tomorrow Look Better

JOIN THE DISTRICT 4L4 VISION SCREENING TEAM

WHO ARE FRIENDS IN SIGHT

Friends in Sight educates, restores vision, and prevents blindness for many thousands of people who can’t afford eyeglasses or a doctor visit. Affiliated with Lions Clubs International, we are a stand-alone 501c3

charitable organization headquartered in Beaumont, CA. With financial support from generous Lions and others, Friends in Sight carries out its mission by providing free vision screenings and free recycled eyeglasses to disadvantaged individuals throughout Southern California and Northern Mexico.

Together with Lions volunteers, Friends in Sight conducts more than 30 doctor-led vision screenings each year. Each event is “hosted” by a local Lions Club, who provides the location, event marketing, and club volunteers to assist the Friends in Sight team.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED

Join the District Team! To enhance the volunteering experience, Friends in Sight has created a “District 4-L4 Team” comprised of Lions from multiple clubs throughout our District. District Team members are trained in the area or areas of choice to become an experienced provider of vision screening services at 4 or 5 events a year.

HOW DO I GET TRAINED

To sign up for training contact the District Vision Screening Coordinator, Pat Dundas. You will be scheduled to train at the next 4-L4 vision screening or if you choose at an earlier event on the current calendar

https://clfis.info/events/ . At the event, you can choose to be trained to handle registration, operate the automated eye exam instruments, assist eye doctors, search the computer eyeglass database, help with

eyeglass inventory management, or assist patients in selecting their eyeglasses.

WHERE WILL I BE VOLUNTEERING

District 4-L4 Vision Screening Team members are asked to participate, as best they can, at each District event; about one every three months. Team members can do even more by volunteering outside the District, including weekend events in Mexico.
