The COVID-19 crisis has brought the need for digital literacy skills front and center. Our recent work in the Illinois Digital Learning Lab (IDLL) showed that 85% of the adult learners participating in the programs tested below a proficient level on basic computer skills (such as using a mouse, turning on a computer, etc.).

Here at CCLC, we are doubling down on our commitment to helping adults gain digital literacy skills - now more than ever.

Northstar Digital Literacy teaches basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Self-guided modules assess individuals' ability to perform basic computer skills. These basic computer digital literacy standards and modules include three main areas: Essential Computer Skills, Essential Software Skills, and Using Technology to Accomplish Tasks. Learn more about Northstar here.

We are inviting organizations to become digital literacy assessments centers under CCLC’s Northstar Digital Literacy sponsorship.

-Through Norhtstar’s program, your organization can help learners build digital literacy skills.
-Using CCLC’s sponsorship will allow your organization to aggregate and track learners’ pretest scores, posttest scores and badges.
-You can become a Northstar Digital Literacy testing site remotely.

We are hosting a webinar on how to become a proctored testing site on May 13 at 2 pm.
