Complete your Self-Evaluation in Workday before January 8!

During this important step of the performance evaluations process, your first-hand reflections and performance ratings are documented before additional feedback is gathered and manager ratings are assigned. 

Get Started: Self-Evaluations for all leaders and corporate teammates are now available in your Workday Tasks as of December 11, 2023. Please complete and submit your self-evaluations before January 8, 2023.

Reminder: 2023 Performance Evaluation Eligibility

Who will receive a performance evaluation?



All corporate staff (full-time and part-time) who worked for NorthStar in 2023 and started before October 1, 2023, will receive a performance review. 

Who won't receive a performance evaluation?


Anyone who started on October 1, 2023 or later will not receive a review for 2023. Also, contractors will not receive a review.

Review Period to Consider: January 1 - December 31, 2023.

Reminder: This Year's Changes

New Rating System:

We've included a slight change to the rating scale this year to drive greater use of the full scale. You and your manager will now choose from the following ratings when assessing your performance across all categories.

  • Far Exceeds Expectations
  • Exceeds Expectations
  • Achieves Expectations
  • Partially Achieves Expectations
  • Below Expectations

Pay for Performance Expands to Bonuses for Eligible Employees

NorthStar is expanding our pay for performance approach by changing our formula for corporate bonuses. 2023 salary increases and corporate bonuses will be based on individual contributions.


Expanding on our commitment to reward our high performing corporate employees, NorthStar is excited that 2023 Corporate Bonuses (payable in April of 2024 for eligible employees) will be based upon individual performance and contributions to their team and the organization. This allows us to tangibly reward corporate employees who go above and beyond. The employee's overall performance rating assigned by their manager during the performance evaluation process will inform both the merit increase and the bonus allocations. The bonus decisions will be made in close collaboration with NorthStar's Talent Development team and HR Business Partners to promote accountability and ensure equity for all employees.
