Some of the most meaningful experiences of my life stem from "on island" face to face networking with Pacific Professionals over the years. As a CPA, I find that networking with the incredible "hidden" accounting talent throughout the Pacific is a meaningful professional networking experience. Whatever your talent, I invite you to join us for our 5M (Marshalls, Micronesia, Marianas, Melekeok, Manila) island hopping Vol professional networking tour in 2019!
In this newsletter, see our latest pilots in the US Mainland regarding delivering Entrepreneurship to under served rural communities and related Agriculture initiatives. But first, we welcome volunteer Dace Campbell and his family to Kosrae & Pohnpei Micronesia (FSM) ! Instead of a Disney or other typical family vacations, Dace and family chose a unique and meaningful experience in the Pacific!
You, your family and friends can have this experience too! be sure to read more about our 2019 "5M" experience and follow this link for ongoing information. Read more about the Campbell's experience below!
Thanks to your donated time and financial gifts, KnowledgeWell is able to deliver value to under-served communities and individuals in the most remote locations on earth.
Sincerely,
Lisa McFarland CPA MBA

Opting for a more meaningful family experience, and a significantly differentiated learning experience for the children, the Campbell's arrived in the FSM on January 20th. Last Summer Volunteer Dace Campbell
reached out to KnowledgeWell seeking to share his expertise. Campbell is sharing his expertise by utilizing UAS/UAV (drone)
Photogrammetry to VR & AR solutions to continue KnowledgeWell's work in delivering technology solutions to assist the Historic Preservation Office- HPO (KIRMA & Survey & Mapping). KnowledgeWell has delivered technologies and experts under the guidance of the HPO since 2006! (see Flashback PS section below)
5 year old Declan says his favorite part of Kosrae is "crossing all the rivers on a hike".
:-)
Want a real world Pacific Islands learning experience for your family too? Join the 5M expedition in 2019. See 5M article below! and Sign up here for more information.
While in the FSM, Dace is executing projects and creating learning experiences around:
- flying a drone to take aerial photographs
- performing photogrammetry from the pictures to create a digital model
- using virtual reality and augmented reality to experience that model immersively and interactively.
Whether using these tools in support of mitigating climate change risk or historic preservation, the technology is applicable to all manner of fields of work and study.
Learn more about these solutions for your community. Join us for our next US event in Orlando Florida!

2018 KOSRAE: WWII Japanese Radio Tower with Campbell Family on the Beach. Photo by Dace Campbell. All Historic Sites have tremendous value. This Site makes the KnowledgeWell Top 5 Favorites List Globally and is a "bucket list" must see. The Hollywood Movie "Up Periscope" with James Garner is based on actual events from this site. Thanks to the vision and wisdom of the ancestors of the family that owns it, trees and vegetation were planted in the 1940s which have preserved the structure from rising sea levels.

Join us in ORLANDO! May 30-31 KnowledgeWell "Beginning of BIM" Series
Photogrammetry to Virtual Reality Model to Learning- Now for the first time, small local communities, can own their BIM processes to address a host of needs- from Historic Preservation to Climate Change Previously, these solutions were not affordable, but now most communities anywhere can capture, process and plan "in house".
See Historic Preservation Examples from Dace Campbell in the FSM-
|
|
First- Using UAS/UAV (drone) technology with Photogrammetry or LiDAR 3D Data is Captured- KW coined this process as the "Beginning of BIM"
|
|
|
| Second- Local Communities can move the captured 3D data from Photogrammetry or LiDAR to Virtual Reality that anyone can experience. |
|
|
Third- Community leaders use the models for learning. Students, government and community leaders can use this information for education, planning (mitigate risks of rising sea levels/climate change or preservation of significant key and historic sites) within communities.
|
Our next event is planned for
Orlando, Florida May 30-31. At this event you will experience real world technologies and strategies, and you will learn about how you can become involved with KnowledgeWell by sharing your expertise - all professions are welcome! If you are interested in sponsoring this event, email

5M Expedition- Join us! Marshall's-Manila Vols' Island Hopping Networking Tour
|
|
 |
|
This volunteer experience is designed to quickly network in each community visited and choose a longer, more focused experience for the following year. The expedition will be divided into two segments lasting 7-10 days each. This new KnowledgeWell 5M experience speeds the "matching" process as it allows professionals, experts and students to discover opportunities to serve- face to face with Pacific Professionals!
Follow this link to sign up for information on the 5M Tour!
Where?
First Segment- Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia (Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk), concluding in the Marianas- Guam/Siapan
Second Segment- Marianas (Guam, Saipan), Micronesia (FSM-Yap), Melekeok (Palau), concluding in Manila.
Both segments are scheduled for late February/March 2019 and are repeated in November.
Who?
Any and all experts, students, family and friends. Whatever your current or former job, current or former degree, your experience and expertise can create value as you meet and learn from Pacific Professionals.
What?
What will we do? The experience is designed as a "concierge" expedition, where everything is planned out for you, and all you have to do is show up at the airport ready to go.
Due to the fast pace of numerous community visits, the goal is to create a learning and awareness experience for you. While all stops have islands and the ocean, the cultures are fascinating and unique. The goal is to deliver a learning experience with each of these incredible cultures! In addition to the networking experiences created for you, it is your choice as to where to dive in (literally and figuratively) at each stop.
Travel arrangements and logistics will be handled by KnowledgeWell partners.
|
|
Thank you for your support which makes these opportunities possible.
Sincerely,
Lisa McFarland, CPA MBA
Executive Director
