Landings Landlovers
Enriching the Community We Love
November Newsletter
President's Message
Thanks to everyone who attended our Opening Reception. It was gratifying to see your interest in the many activities and events Landlovers offers and your willingness to volunteer at our Fundraisers. Community involvement is such an important part of island life and participation in Landlovers is one way to be involved. Thanks to Milli Sample and Kathy Collura who organized the reception and to the many Activity Chairs, Fundraising Chairs, and Non-profit organizations who set up tables and shared their plans for the coming year. Welcome to our new members – over 20 new households joined at the reception. You can join Landlovers at any time during the year – encourage all your friends to join in the fun! If you missed the opening reception, no worries; you’ll find information about our events in our Newsletter or by visiting our web-site at landingslandlovers.com. Email the Activity Chairs with any questions and to indicate your interest in their activity. They’ll be happy to help.
Enriching the Community We Love. Promoting Friendship and improving our community is what Landlovers is all about. Our philanthropic giving in the form of Grants, Scholarships, and Community Service Merit awards is one important way we give back. We are always looking for new ways to enrich the Community. This year for the first time Landlovers is sponsoring the Toys for Tots Holiday Golf Cart Parade on Sunday, December 4. It’s a great way to kick-off the holiday season of giving and something the entire community, both young and old, can enjoy together.

If you’re looking for other ways to give back, the L.O.V.E. Mentor program is still looking for volunteers to spend 1 to 2 hours a week helping early elementary students in Title 1 schools with reading and math. No experience necessary just a desire to help children who have lost so much the past 2 years. For more information and volunteer form go to: www.lovementors.org.

Activities and social events bring our community together and is another way Landlovers enriches the community. Our Holiday Social on Tuesday, December 6th, will be a Campfire themed event at the Skidaway Island State Park Pavilion complete with s’mores and ghost stories. Sign up begins October 20that 8 am.

A Plant Based Production Group celebrates their 1st year Anniversary with a gathering at the Pavilion at Skidaway Farms on Saturday, October 29th. The new Trolley to the Arts celebrates their inaugural event on Thursday, November 17, with an outing to The Tybee Post Theater. Coastal Georgia Living’s program on Wednesday, November 2nd, features a speaker from SCAD. That’s just a sampling of what’s going on.
We are always looking for new ways we can Enrich Our Community. Do you have any ideas for projects or initiatives Landlovers might get involved with? Any new activities you might like to participate in or organize? Email me your thoughts at: [email protected]. Hope to hear from you.

Best regards,
Chris Lanigan
President
