Greetings LLCEDC Members & Community Leaders,

Community Clean Up is only a few days away, and we are so excited to see everyone there! As a reminder, please RSVP for this event by scanning the QR code attached to the flyers below. This event couldn't happen without the support of our partners, and we are so thankful for their efforts in putting this together.

On a separate note, the LLCEDC held its first Strategic Planning Session in several years, and the results were impressive! Our partners at Downtown Colorado Inc. (DCI) hosted the event, and now we hope to implement the goals and strategies that we have learned to enhance the LLCEDC's impact on our community.

NEW MEMBER HIGHLIGHT!

Hope Colitz, the founder of Hope for Homes, has been in the construction industry for over thirty years, and has specialized in Home Performance Contracting and BPI Standards.

Originally based Alaska as an apprentice for an Energy Auditor, Colitz has found passion in cold climate weatherization, and thus was naturally drawn to the snow capped peaks of Colorado. Hope for Homes was created as a means to increase the quality of life while lowering utility costs for Colorado residents.

Hope for Homes is dedicated to the community in Leadville and Lake County, and is currently the General Contractor for the new parklet at the Leadville Visitors Center. Naturally, the LLCEDC views Hope Colitz as a perfect fit for Leadville, and a prime example of what it means to give back to the community.

Please welcome Hope for Homes!

Business Values Analogy

In past videos, workshops and blogs, I have discussed a real-time strategic business planning process. It starts with a business concept vision that is overlaid upon SWOT analysis and typical business areas like values, goals and constraints to arrive at a unified plan. Today, I would like to focus on that tough-to-define word…values. Instead of asking what are your company’s values, ask:

  • Why does your business exist?
  • Who do you service?
  • What is the benefit?

As the State of Colorado actively looks to support businesses through all stages of their journey, the Employee Ownership Office of Colorado is working in partnership with the Exit Planning Institute to create the State of Owner Readiness Report. This research gives an inside look on how prepared private business owners are to sell or exit their businesses and allows for our statewide business community to best prepare for this next step, consider all of their options, and improve their individual transition success.
