Businesses, Nonprofits, and Community Leaders:

As we approach Thanksgiving, many of us take time to reflect on the things for which we are thankful. It is an especially meaningful time for me this year, as I prepare to embark on a new venture.  I am resigning to take an economic development position in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Located in the eastern part of the state, I will be close to my family home. It was a very difficult decision, as I found the people of this area to be truly special, both as professional associates and personal friends.

I want to express my sincere thanks for the opportunity to have served as your economic development director. It has been a wonderful experience and I can assure you that your leaders have a genuine commitment to making Leadville/Lake County an even better place to live and work. The LLCEDC is led by those who have an understanding of the need for smart growth, which means evaluating opportunities and meeting challenges without diverting from a solid vision and goals set for the region. The claim that residents of Leadville/Lake County have grit is real.

It was a privilege to have been part of the community and I look forward to following your progress remotely as well as returning for visits to see the exciting changes that I am certain will be made. I will be leaving at the end of December. On behalf of myself, my husband Ron, and our beloved canine Zig Zag, thank you and sincere wishes for all the best.

Offer health insurance benefits to your employees tax-free!

Businesses of any size can offer plans with more savings, cost control, and choice than traditional group plans.

Peak Health Alliance is excited to introduce a new health insurance product for small business called “ICHRA”. ICHRAs will allow businesses of any size to contribute to an amount they determine, tax-free, to their employee's health insurance premiums.

This is a fantastic benefit for a small business owner who can now offer health insurance as a recruitment and retention tool to both fill time and part time or seasonal workers. Businesses can determine the amount of the contribution, then the employees will use the individual marketplace to find a place that fits their budget and situation best.

Thanks to LLCEDC's partnership with Peak, LLCEDC members will receive a $25 direct rebate from Peak by enrolling in ICHRA or another Peak group insurance product before December 1, 2021.
