Businesses, Nonprofits, and Community Leaders:

Hi – I'm reading "Agents of Economic Development: An Essential Guide for Navigating Good, Bad, and Uncertain Times" by Neal Wade, Dr. Bill Smith and wanted to share this quote with you.

One of my all time favorites:

"Former Tennessee basketball Coach Pat Summitt wrote about success in her book Reach for the Summit – “Success is a project that’s always under construction. Somehow, you have to commit to get better every day, no matter how successful you were the day before."

Offer health insurance benefits to your employees tax-free!

Businesses of any size can offer plans with more savings, cost control, and choice than traditional group plans.

Peak Health Alliance is excited to introduce a new health insurance product for small business called “ICHRA”. ICHRAs will allow businesses of any size to contribute to an amount they determine, tax-free, to their employee's health insurance premiums.

This is a fantastic benefit for a small business owner who can now offer health insurance as a recruitment and retention tool to both fill time and part time or seasonal workers. Businesses can determine the amount of the contribution, then the employees will use the individual marketplace to find a place that fits their budget and situation best.

Thanks to LLCEDC's partnership with Peak, LLCEDC members will receive a $25 direct rebate from Peak by enrolling in ICHRA or another Peak group insurance product before December 1, 2021.

The Outdoor Industry Summit is an exploration of growth/scale opportunities, stewardship & education for those operating an outdoor recreation business or nonprofit in the Central Mountain region of Colorado. Others in the state are welcome too!

We will combine Central Mtn adventure tourism-based industry businesses and the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association, and diverse community minded support resources to educate and protect our public lands while still promoting tourism and outdoor adventures to all.

We will share the many new state funding resources available to rural small businesses/entrepreneurs to contribute to and/or expand their brands and purpose driven joint ventures.

Finally, this summit will hold the space to collaborate on methodologies to tap into entrepreneurial energy to address community scale challenges facing our rural area (i.e. workforce, housing, childcare, social inequities, environmental concerns etc.).

TEN REASONS GOOD PEOPLE QUIT

According to the US Department of Labor and Statistics, turnover can cost an organization 33% of an employeeʼs total compensation including both salary and benefits. But the impact is not only financial it also affects employee morale. Therefore, it would be prudent for managers to focus on reducing turnover rates but in order to do that they must first understand the reasons why employees quit. There have been many studies and articles written on why good employees leave their current positions.
