LLT News

November 2025

A huge thank you to Thule Inc. (the folks that make those outstanding roof racks)! A hearty group of 11 Thule employees joined 8 land trust stalwarts to put in the single most productive volunteer day we have ever experienced. This enthusiastic and talented group hauled materials, built bridges, cleared viewsheds, opened trails and fields, and removed invasive plants. The comradery was infectious, and the post work fellowship was heartwarming.

Volunteer Spotlight

Four volunteers cleared and marked the new orange blazed Vincent Blakely Forest Preserve trail. This new trail connects the Fern Avenue trail head through the Preserve and into the Morris Land Trust trail with a trail head on Clark Road.

Volunteer of the Year

Tom Reinhardt was recognized as the LLT 2025 Volunteer of the Year. LLT is grateful for the over 75 hours of work he did that helped LLT organize its enormous collection of property file records. This work was critical in our efforts to achieve National Accreditation.

Thank you to all who attended our Sunset Party!

Over 225 land conservation supporters celebrated the 2025 Sunset Benefit Party in September. The fun loving and generous folks who attended are passionate about land and water protection. Spirits were high and the camaraderie was palpable as we celebrated together. We are grateful for the robust community support and a special thank you for our generous corporate sponsors. Mark your calendars! The Sunset Benefit Party will be held at a brand-new venue on September 18, 2026. It is going to be special!
