FOOD PANTRY
Since its inception
in March 2017,
LMC's Food Pantry has provided over 2,000 healthy and nutritious foods to more than 100 students. Current LMC students in need can become qualified to receive food from a weekly menu.
To receive food:
- Students will need to first fill out an intake form to be verified as a student.
- After approval, the student will be notified of acceptance.
- Approved Students can then start picking up items from the Food Pantry.
The Food Bank is located in the College Complex,

near the cafeteria The fall hours are,
Monday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., and
Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Be first in line for 2018-2019 award processing
The 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Dream Act Applications are now available! The sooner you submit your application, the sooner your award amount will be determined. Awards are based on your 2016 tax information. Applications are available on www.fafsa.gov and https://dream.csac.ca.gov/.
Financial Aid Checklist keeps you on track
FAFSA and California Dream Act recipients are encouraged to review their Missing Information Checklist in the
InSite Portal, then submit any outstanding documents to ensure application completion and faster processing. Processing may take between six to eight weeks, depending on the volume of applications received. Financial Aid will be paid to you in the disbursement method of your choice. Students can choose a method of payment at
http://www.4cd.edu/collegecash/default.aspx.
Financial Aid Funding Options
Students have three options to receive their financial aid awards. The funding options are:
- Direct Deposit - Funds transferred to your bank account, and available within 3-5 business days from disbursement date*.
- CollegeCash Card - Funds available same day of disbursement*.
- Check - Funds mailed to address on file with A&R, and available within 7-10 business days from disbursement date*.
*Time-frames may vary.
Has your income been reduced since the 2015 Tax Year?
Although the 2017-2018 FAFSA is based on 2015 income, students can meet with a Financial Aid Advisor to reevaluate eligibility if their income has changed significantly. Contact the Financial Aid Office at

LMC scholarships are provided to students by the generosity of the LMC Foundation, corporations, and individual donors. They are based on a variety of factors and the award amounts can vary. Take a look at some of LMC's current scholarships opportunities, and don't delay - apply today!
The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award is offering two awards at $1500 each for women who are the primary support for their families, have financial need, and are currently enrolled or accepted to a vocational/skills or undergraduate program.
Deadline: November 15.
Share a money memory:
CashCourse is now accepting applications for their 2017 My Story Essay Contest. For this scholarship, students are asked to describe an early money memory. The 1st place winner receives $1500, 2nd place $750, and 3rd place $250. Deadline: November 17.

LMC Foundation Scholarships available soon!
Los Medanos College Foundation Scholarships open in November 2017. Foundation Scholarships are for current LMC students who are attending LMC in Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. To be considered, applicants must have established an LMC GPA of 2.0 or higher. Criteria for scholarships, as well as award amounts, may vary. More information coming soon!

Scantron sales
Midterms and Finals are just around the corner! We have a Scantron vending machine in the Brentwood Center hallway located just outside room 3. The vending machine takes cash only. Small bills are preferred.
Technical support
Should you experience any problems on campus with the WIFI, printing, copying or the vending machines, stop by the Student Services office for assistance.
Transfer Application Workshops
Join our Transfer Center Coordinator, Rachel Anicetti, for assistance applying to four year colleges. No appointment is necessary. Just drop-in at the Brentwood Center, Room 9, during the following dates and times:

Textbook Reserve Library
Borrow a textbook for three hours at a time. Most textbooks for Brentwood classes are stocked in the Brentwood Textbook Reserve, located in the front office. Bring either your LMC Student ID card, or a California ID or Driver's License to check out a book.
Library Books Sent to You
Using LMC's online Library Catalog, you can check out a library book from any of the three colleges in our district (LMC, CCC, DVC) and have the book shipped to the LMC Brentwood Center for you to pick up. You can return library books from the other district colleges at the Brentwood Center, too!
Electronic Databases
You can view books, articles, videos, and more using the
LMC Library's online electronic databases. For off-campus access, you will need to enter your last name and 7-digit student ID number. If you encounter any problems, contact the reference librarian at (925) 473-7575.
