More on mental wellness supports for frontline workers

From Dr. Sylvain Roy, OPA (via Association of FHTs in Ontario)

Self referral

  • Frontline workers can self-refer to a mental health hospital (e.g., CAMH) for up to 6 sessions of 1-1 therapy with a social worker or psychotherapist
  • If more sessions are required or the person may be best served by a psychologist/PA, the individual may be referred to an OPA psychologist for 8 (up to 12 sessions) of therapy covered by MOH.
  • Find out more.

Referral through primary care clinician

  • Clinicians can refer frontline worker patients directly to OPA psychologists using the same method as before or from within their EMRs.
  • Digital integration work between OCEAN to Strata Health (psychologists e-referral platform) enables direct primary care clinician referrals to psychologists for the frontline workers programs and more.

Streamline your Practice

eReferral via eFax moving forward successfully!

eReferral via eFax was launched on May 24th in Middlesex London and according to Dr. Vineet Nair, family physicians and co-chair of LMPCA Executive Council, it is helping to make his practice more efficient.

"The success of the Referral Management Program and eReferrals relies heavily on the number of physicians and specialists who sign on. The more who sign on, the better!

Referring patients using Ocean eReferral/eFax has recently shifted the practice in my clinics. Since I started using Ocean eReferrals, things became easier for me, my team and my patients by reducing admin time and improving communication via emails with patients. Today, 50% of my referrals are done through Ocean.”
