LN Engineering is a proud sponsor of Porsche Club of America and specifically, Porsche Parade and Tech Tactics.

Be sure to keep Wed, July 9th, open on your Parade schedule. PCA will be using a new “show and tell” format this year rather than Powerpoint in a ballroom, which is sure to be very informative.

If you can’t attend Parade, be sure to catch up on YouTube with Tech Tactics Live on select sessions so that those who cannot attend Parade can tune in!

What Does a “Rebuilt Engine” Really Mean?

Not all rebuilds are created equal. In fact, most aren’t even close.

Before you invest in an engine build for your Porsche, watch this short video that breaks down what the term rebuilt actually means—and what it should mean.

At Flat 6 Innovations and LN Engineering, we don’t just rebuild—we reconstruct engines to eliminate known flaws, upgrade critical systems, and deliver performance and longevity that mass-market rebuilders can't touch.

If you believe quality is worth paying for, this is for you.

Anyone can bolt parts together, but this doesn’t make them an engine builder. As the consumer, it’s important to understand what you are paying for. A cheap engine is inexpensive for a reason!

Flat 6 Innovations is unapologetically expensive, and quite possibly the most expensive in the world. Our customers see value in everything we do from pioneering solutions invented, developed, tested, proven, and finally manufactured here in the USA to our never ending quest for improvement.

We know that it is impossible for us to rebuild every engine, so when qualifying a shop to trust to do right by your Porsche, here are some basic questions every prospective engine buyer should ask include:

  • Is the engine blueprinted?
  • Is the rotating assembly dynamically balanced?
  • Is the engine teardown, inspection, and reassembly process fully documented, including photos?
  • What is the engine builder’s experience?
  • What components are reused rather than replaced?
  • What components are upgraded over the OE parts and where are they sourced?
  • Have the valve seats, springs, and guides been replaced?
  • Can a complete parts list be supplied for what is being replaced?
  • How are core engines or core components that have suffered through a catastrophic failure graded?
  • How are used components qualified or reconditioned before they are reused?

All these questions apply to any engine rebuild, not only Porsche engines. The only thing we would add is that if you are looking for someone to rebuild your engine, be sure they are Porsche experts! Besides Flat 6 Innovations, there are dozens of qualified Porsche shops worldwide that have trained under Jake Raby who understand what it takes to properly rebuild your Porsche engine.

“The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle.”

— General John J. Pershing

Just as not all weapons are created equal, neither are engines. Excellence is forged, not assembled.

Important message for Speediagnostix UOA customers

There has been a change to how the USPS is processing pre-paid Stamps.com shipping labels due to some fraud, causing some issues for customers. SPEEDiagnostix kits are currently shipping with USPS.com labels, but those with older Stamps.com labels should go into the post office and make sure they are scanned and get a printed receipt that they have taken the return. If you do encounter a pre-paid label they won’t honor, please contact us for a replacement label. SPEEDiagnostix is currently evaluating other pre-paid shipping options.
