CLEANER FUEL FOR A CLEANER TACOMA

Most cargo ships today run on diesel or bunker fuel. The Port of Tacoma’s most recent emissions inventory showed that, while ship-related emissions have dropped, they still accounted for 63 percent of the maritime-related diesel particulate matter emissions. Switching to LNG is important to reduce air contamination.

The U.S. Foreign Trade Zones Board’s Annual Report to Congress is bullish on  FTZs , finding that after several years of decline in zone activity, strong increases in all major categories were logged in 2017, the last year for which data are available.
