LOA Annual Meeting: Decade of Healthy Aging

LOA had an incredible Annual Meeting. LOA’s 51st Annual Meeting was held on March 23, at the Vinton War Memorial. Thanks to Sal’s Italian Restaurant for the delicious catered lunch. Our Keynote Speaker was Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer for Carilion Clinic.

We were so glad to award the Babe & Sidney Lewis Memorial Award to Senator Tim Kaine and Senator Mark Warner for outstanding contributions that improve the lives of older Virginians.

We presented the Helen I. Phelps Memorial Award for outstanding volunteer service to Meals on Wheels to Second Presbyterian Church.

We were also pleased to recognize our community partners. We presented The Church of St. Peter & St. Paul with the award for Exemplary Inter-Agency Cooperation - for hosting LOA’s Soup for Seniors.

We also awarded the Exemplary Public Private Partnership Award to The Branch Group for their many generous acts of kindness to our seniors.

And, the President’s Award was presented to LOA's incredible outgoing Board Chair, Steve Musselwhite.
