Don't forget your tickets: Let's Give Lunch!
A flurry of activity is currently going on as we have kicked off our annual fundraiser to support Meals on Wheels and our nutrition program. Flyers have been printed, Tickets have gone on sale and people have already begun bidding on raffle items. Mark your calendar for Friday, June 17,2022 for LOA’s Let’s Give Lunch. We’ll have curbside and delivery available. Meals will be $20 and that takes care of your lunch as well as providing Meals on Wheels to seniors in our area. Visit our website to see how you can participate in this year’s event: everything from purchasing a meal, participating in the Meals on Wheels Raffle, sponsoring, or volunteering for the event. Contact us today.
If you have questions about your Medicare Advantage plan, need to switch plans, look at your part D prescription, or switch back to Original Medicare, please contact us to set up an appointment.

Also, VICAP is continuing its efforts to educate the community of seniors and soon to retire by providing free presentations in person or virtually. If you would like to set up a presentation concerning retirement, SSA, Medicare, and also FRAUD presentations due to exploitation with insurance, medical billing fraud, tax, and romance scams. Now is the time to contact us for information and to request a presentation for your group, organization, or employers.
This month we are highlighting:

Diners Clubs (Congregate Meals) - Persons with economic or social needs meet at supervised sites for lunch, activities, and programs. Eligibility criteria in addition to being 60 years of age or older include: Individuals must be mobile, not homebound, and physically, mentally, and medically able to attend a congregate meals program

Pets Eat Too - Pet food is donated by the RVSPCA for the pets of our Meals-on-Wheels clients and is delivered on a weekly basis by the volunteers.
Nutrition Education-Anyone that is eligible for LOA’s Meals-on-Wheels or Congregate Meals (Diner’s club) programs will also be eligible for Nutrition Education and will automatically be provided with materials and/or presentations. The intent is to support food, nutrition and physical activity choices and behaviors in order to maintain or improve health.

Nutrition Counseling - Registered Dietician will do nutrition counseling if a client meets eligibility criteria.

LOA Health and Wellness Center
We anticipate moving into the center late June. We have set the date for our grand opening on September 13,2022 at 10:00 a.m. More information will be coming in the months ahead.
The opening of this facility will assist LOA in our mission to empower seniors to age in place while offering health aging opportunities.
