Feeding America approached LOA seeking help with a new food program. The Senior Food Box program has come to our area. The food is non-perishable and includes some food commodities.
In order to help make this program happen, The LOA is seeking volunteers to help on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. If enough people volunteer we would not need someone to work every month. Volunteers are needed for any of the following functions:
Volunteers (with a pickup truck or larger SUV) to pick up boxes of food at Feeding America on Rt. 419 and deliver them to the LOA office at 4932 Frontage Road, NW.
Volunteers who can be at the LOA office to give our food to clients and volunteers.
Volunteers who can take boxes out on a delivery route of 10 – 12 stops.
In all of these functions, please note that each Senior Food Box weighs 30 pounds.
This program is starting now, so if you know of someone who can help, please call George Edwards at 345-0451 or email
. Our first day with Senior Food Boxes is August 21
