JANUARY 2025 MONTHLY LETTER

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith… Hebrews 12:2

Here in Hebrews 12:2 we are reminded to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. There are many things that can hinder our walk from the race of faith. Sin and many other things can hinder our walk with the Lord.  We are reminded to lay aside every weight, and sin which so easily ensnares us, from running the race that has been set before us. If our eyes are not fixed on Jesus, our faith will diminish and be weak! Only if we keep our eyes on Him, then our faith becomes strong, we become strong in the Lord Jesus and in the power of His might.

Our security and strength only comes in knowing Him, and because we know Him, we put our trust completely in Him; we yield our will and hearts to Him.

In order to run this race, our faith must be strong. The key is being persistent in our faith walk.  A runner is persistent in running the race until the very end. But at the same time, the runner must look forward at all times.  When a runner is running a race, their eyes must be fixed straight forward; if they put their eyes away from the finish line, they can stumble and fall. The same happens in our race of faith. If we put our eyes on other things than Jesus, we can stumble and fall.

For this very reason we are reminded to always keep our eyes on Jesus! There is so much distraction around us. Things can also happen to us-  we live in an evil world and that can affect our faith walk, only if we allow it. At the same time the Lord is working in our lives, the enemy is also trying to get your eyes away from the Lord.  Our eyes must remain in the Lord at all times!

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:25-27

Where are your eyes fixed?  This is a question you can only answer.

It is important to keep your eyes on Jesus in order to be persistent in your faith. Whose trust is in the Lord and the word of God never looks to the right nor the left.  He or she is established! Be persistent to continue pushing forward, persistent in any situation that may arise in our lives.  Our faith must be in Him only!

In Matthew 14:29-30 When Peter took his eyes away from Jesus, he saw the wind and was afraid and began to sink.

After all the miracles Jesus did in their midst, fear began to overtake Peter when he was walking on water. Jesus was right there in front of him, all Peter had to do was keep his eyes fixed on Jesus.  He started to look at the wind. The wind can be any kind of circumstance you may be facing. It is important to know our Lord Jesus, and because you know Him, you will trust and depend on Him no matter the challenges. Even though there may be a storm in your mist, the storm won't affect you, because you trust. Your dependency, peace, strength and joy is in the Lord. He is your prince of Peace, He is your dependency, He is your strength and He is your joy! You must know that to experience it!

It’s through Jesus that we are able to withstand any kind of difficult circumstances, adversity, trials, and persecution.

Our priority must be in the things of the Kingdom! No matter what you are facing, we must be fixed on the Lord! The only way to overcome any situation is in the Lord! In Jesus you have everything, we are lacking nothing!  Remain faithful to the Lord!

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Be connected to the true vine, which is Jesus! Through Jesus we fulfill the Father's will in our lives. Jesus did only the Father's will! And this should also be the same for us, everything we do towards the Father we do through Jesus. We must keep our eyes on Him.

Be persistent in your walk of faith, never waiver but be firm and be established in the word of God. Do not look to the right or left.

Never take your eyes away from Jesus, He is the author and the finisher of our faith! AMEN!
