Update on our recent Survey about 2025 racing in Canadian waters only.

The Lake Ontario Offshore Racing Organizing Authority (LOOR OA) has always been guided by the needs and preferences of our racing community. Following our recent survey—extended to all LOOR participants from 2022 onwards—we have reaffirmed our decision to hold all 2025 LOOR races in Canadian waters only.

Survey results showed that:

  • Between 30% and 40% of respondents had no issue racing in U.S. waters.
  • A similar number expressed that they would not participate in races held in U.S. waters.
  • Very few respondents raised concerns about racing exclusively in Canadian waters.

These findings strongly support our decision to keep the 2025 races within Canada.

In response to feedback, we've revised the Canadian-only race courses to address previous concerns. Updated Notices of Race with adjusted courses have been posted for the following events:

  • Susan Hood Trophy Race
  • LO300/LO600
  • LOSHRS Races 2, 3, and 4

We remain committed to delivering challenging and enjoyable racing experiences and hope to return to full lake courses in the future.

LOOR welcomes participation from boats across Canada, the U.S., and beyond—we look forward to seeing you on the water.

As always, your feedback is important to us. Please reach out at info@loor.ca with any comments or questions.

Fair winds,

The LOOR Organizing Authority
