Midway Chamber of Commerce December 02, 2025 | | |
The Midway Chamber has released the following two statements.
ICE Statement
The Midway Chamber of Commerce believes immigrants are essential to our communities and we stand with employees, employers, and neighbors as they confront unreasonably aggressive enforcement tactics of federal immigration enforcement agencies. We urge Midway business owners to educate themselves and their employees about their rights and stand ready to assist in that effort. We call on elected officials to enact a national immigration policy that unites rather than divides and ask officials treat people with respect and dignity.
THC Statement
The Midway Chamber of Commerce recognizes the promise and importance of the THC industry to our economy and opposes the new federal law that hinders the growth of this industry. Stifling federal laws designed to cripple the THC industry will result in job losses and business closures throughout Minnesota and the United States. We stand by the THC industry.

2025 Ladder of Hope
Guild’s Ladder of Hope events are hour-long impactful fundraisers that support Guild’s mission-driven and lifesaving services. Held for over 15 years, the Ladder of Hope events have become a staple to our supporters. These events are a chance to hear unforgettable stories of hope and recovery from staff, clients, and community members. We hope to inspire attendees to become donors, volunteers, and/or community partners. We believe that together, we can change lives.
What does Ladder of Hope support?
Guild empowers change by engaging individuals and communities, embracing their needs, and elevating their voices. We know that enduring, lasting change occurs one small step at a time when people see and understand all their options and create their own paths. At Guild we walk alongside people on this journey, working towards a future in which everyone has access to health, wellness, and community.
We served nearly 2,200 individuals in the Twin Cities metro area in 2021. From mental health crisis services to street outreach, our team is ready to help in some of the toughest situations. Not only are our services backed by research, but they are also mobile, meaning they are provided in the community when and where needed.
Everyone is worthy of the opportunity to create a life with joy, community, safety, and shelter. Stigma presents extraordinary challenges for people living with mental illness. Recognizing the inherent worth in all human beings, Guild places equity at the center of our work. We dispel discriminatory beliefs held by landlords, employers, and others – including practitioners – that don’t acknowledge mental illness as a disability that must and can be accommodated with the right support. Guild’s work is about restoring dignity and providing solid ground for everybody. We are not going to stop working until that happens.

Seminar:
The Power of Purposeful Events
Unlock the strategy behind hosting events that don’t just look good on paper, but genuinely move your mission forward. Let’s break down the essential questions every nonprofit leader is asking today: What types of events are actually working? How do we get the right people in the room? What strategies are driving results and not just attendance?
This panel discussion session dives deep into six key considerations when choosing your event date and event type, helping you build gatherings that are intentional, impactful, and aligned with your goals.
Attendees will explore:
- Friend-raising or fundraising? How to define your event’s purpose from the start.
- Evaluating past attendees to measure real giving potential and identify opportunities.
- Educating your audiences on their role whether they’re current donors, community members, or new to your organization
- Designing events that flow, ensuring each moment supports your mission and keeps guests engaged.
- Timeline = Bottom Line, and how planning ahead directly increases fundraising outcomes.
- Choosing the right night, ensuring your event aligns with your community’s rhythm—not competing with it.
You’ll walk away with clear strategies and a refined lens for planning events that fulfill their purpose, strengthen donor relationships, and maximize revenue. Whether you're building a brand-new signature event or refreshing an existing one, this talk gives you the tools to approach your next gathering with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Mission, Not Motion: Making Tough Choices When Everything Counts
The urgency in our current environment seems to demand immediate response. It is in these moments of perceived demand that we are most vulnerable to off-mission decisions, large and small. This session provides tools for identifying early signs of misalignment -in ourselves, in our teams, and in our organizations - and offers practical strategies for regaining clarity and focus.
