Of course we love all the seasons, but Spring is the season that Buddings loves best! The magical way the cherry blossoms first peek out, bloom, and then burst into confetti! The joy of jumping in puddles! Sweet chocolate Easter eggs! There's no better time to explore your senses!

This month, we'll be doing just that, as we join Jen Labelle as she takes the reins as our new Big Kids' Club coordinator. She's jumping in with both feet, and creating a month-long sensory celebration - Spring through the Senses!
You'll be seeing a few more new faces this month, as well, and we're so pleased to welcome Fotina and Denet, our new Daycare Teachers! Watch the blog over the next couple of weeks as they all take a moment to introduce themselves.
And while we're freshening things up around here, there's a big change coming to our pricing model. We're simplifying the rates, removing the deadlines, and automating the Hold My Spot option. It's a big change, coming into effect for May, but current members can try it out now!

Easter is hopping up this month, too, and Buddings will be closed for the 4-day holiday, from Good Friday (Apr. 18) to Easter Monday (Apr. 21).

There's a whole lotta spring going on out there! Let's go!

It's spring!

Easter Closure - Apr. 18 - 21, 2014
It was a soggy winter, and it's been a rainy spring, but now that the sun is starting to shine, and the flowers are blooming, the new Buddings crew has Spring Fever!
We missed out on a holiday in March, and while Easter is the official occasion, there are hundreds of reasons to take a 4-day weekend in the springtime. So we'll be closed on Good Friday (Apr. 18) and on Easter Monday (Apr. 21). Happy Easter! Hop hop hop!
Now, if we can just arrange to have the sunshine...
Introducing: Flexible Occasional Childcare for $15/hr.!

We're proud to have invented a flexible childcare option, and after over two years, we know that the convenience of booking care when you need it is working!

Some things that are not working as well, like restricted package sizes, pricing penalties for smaller packages, and never-ending invoicing. We've come up with a new membership model that simplifies everything.

It's called Super Simple Pricing, and it's coming into effect for May 2014. There's a detailed explanation on the blog, and we'll be talking about it all month long, but it's called Super Simple Pricing for a reason: It's simple!

Buddings Members Pay $15/hour for childcare, no matter how many hours you use, when you buy them, or how often. Membership is $60/month, automatically withdrawn from your credit card, and covers everything you need to make use of our service and centre!

Please have a read of the explanation, and check out the new Parent Handbook (from the Forms Section of our website), and let us know if you have any questions.

Welcome to Buddings, Jen!
You may have already seen the new Big Kids' Club teacher, Jen, as she led the last week's worth of marches through March. All the kids are talking about her, and she's already got some big fans among the preschoolers. Find her self-introduction on the blog!

Jen comes to the Big Kids' Club with lots of experience with the preschool age group, creating and teaching programs in BC and in 2006, in New Zealand! She has her Bachelor of Education from UBC, and has created a variety of programs for 3 - 5's, including the "Little Chefs" healthy eating program and kitchen safety for the Kits Community Centre.

We're thrilled to have her join us, and are looking forward to her sensory exploration of Spring all April long!
Even more new welcomes! -  Denet and Fotina!
There were a lot of new faces at Buddings last month, as we interviewed, observed, and second interviewed tonnes of applicants for some new teacher positions with us. It was an exciting process, and finally, after much deliberation, we made our decisions.
We're so happy to introduce you to our new teachers, Denet and Fotina. They are both recent grads with their Early Childhood Educators license, and have lots of fun and creative ideas for getting the kids going in the mornings. (They're part of our new Morning Circle Time plans, too - coming soon!)
The girls are getting oriented, but will soon be able to tell you about themselves on the blog. Watch for their intro posts later this month.
In the meantime, take a moment to introduce yourself and your child next time you're in!
