WE'RE POSTCARD MILLIONAIRES!

Back in March of last year, we weren’t sure voter registration via postcard was going to be our thing, but we tried it anyway because our moms taught us to try new things.

And it paid off! As of today, our amazing volunteers and partner groups – whose wrists must really need a break – have cracked the 1,000,000 mark! 1,000,881 to be exact. [CUE BALLOON DROP!] 

Each one-in-a-million, handwritten, beautiful art postcard is an act of love and faith from a caring, democracy-loving volunteer to a potential Democrat. Field Team 6 is incredibly moved and proud. Now ice those wrists – then give yourselves a hand!

Our partners fine-tune all our scripts so that they speak in the voice of the people of that swing state or district. And their partnership allows Field Team 6 to be of service not just to the new voters, but to the on-the-ground organizations... so that we empower each other, and grow stronger together as a movement!

MOZART SAVES DEMOCRACY

Our friends in Northern California are taking a break from raking forests (suck it Donald!) in order to raise money to register Democrats.

Why? To save the world, naturally. How? With inspiring live music from Mozart, tasty hors d'oeuvres, refreshing libations...and you! LA WALK FOR DEMOCRACY

For those in the Greater LA area, Field Team 6's incredible partner Hang Out Do Good is hosting a fun walkathon on Sunday, September 25th from 10a-1p, all to raise awareness and dollars for great candidates in swing states.

Join the map anywhere, then try to hit all of the states on your stroll! Meet people you’ve only seen on Zoom! Eat treats! Get some fresh air into your activist lungs. Hang out! Do good!

TEXT ARCADES ARE FUN!

Problem: We have more eligible voters who are likely Democrats in our database than we have the cash to text.

Solution: the Text Arcade! ...a superfast text bank that costs $25 a ticket, where 100% of your ticket funds this text bank. We cap attendance to make sure everyone has 1400 texts to send!

And now we're going all in with Text Arcade Tuesdays. Every Tuesday until October 18 we're hosting Text Arcades to likely Democrats in swing states that make the difference.

This week, we’re singing The Anthem of Appreciation in honor of an awesome volunteer, Jose Lucena Jr., who says “as a US Marine Corps veteran patriot, defending democracy and our Constitution stands forefront in my lifetime duties to this beautiful nation we call home.” 

Jose is of Puerto Rican descent and has lived in Florida since he was 12, which has helped him to see the imminent danger that our democracy faces under the GOP. “I want to show the right wing that us Liberals can be and are fearless. We will do whatever it takes to bring down the bigotry machine the Republican Party has become.” 

Jose believes the GOP operates on pure fearmongering and deception. “In the Marine Corps we had a nice acronym for fear. We saw it as the False Expectation About Reality. Teaching us to let go of such fallacy and embrace the courage it takes to venture into the unknown.” 

Because Republicans will go to any length to scare people, Jose believes it’s important to constantly show how many of us are opposed to their attempts to take away our social and civil liberties. So he volunteers for groups including The Hillsborough County Democratic Executive Committee as a voting district leader for Florida's Region 3, District 1. “I volunteered for the Biden/Harris Victory 2020 campaign, and have been actively working for the expansion of our party since then.”

He says he does all this in honor of his Mexican husband and his family who are not “bad hombres” or “nasty women.” “Latino immigrants come to this country for a better life than that possible to them in their own country. It is a fallacy of the Republican rhetoric that paints us as criminals. I do this for my people.”

Jose, we salute your dedication, hard work, and vision of a more inclusive America, and are honored to be marching by your side to do everything we can to save democracy.
