Happy Pride Month! And Happy Juneteenth! Let’s celebrate by registering new Democrats who will elect leaders to fight for LGBTQIA+ rights and fight for racial justice! This month, we have SO many opportunities to turn outrage into positive action, and to let injustice fuel our fight for justice. Find them all below in Volunteer Ops!
We now have only four full months until voter registration deadlines start hitting in early October. Let’s make every single day count.
All month, we need boots on the ground registering Democrats at Pride Events in every swing state. On 6/7, California has its primary. On 6/14, Nevada has its own. Let’s harness that urgency! We need people on our phone banks, at our BYOP text banks, at our paid text bank for Nevada next Wednesday, at our postcard parties, at our social media storms. So sign up for an event today – or contribute by donating. It all helps.

BE A FIELD TEAM 6 SUMMER INTERN!
Field Team 6 is now accepting applications for our Summer Internship program. It's open to high school sophomores and older who can work 10-20 hours per week between June and September. This unpaid/volunteer position looks amazing on the resume and provides valuable training in a range of skills (leadership, organizing, writing, advertising, marketing, data collection/analysis, and more). Plus, it empowers students to establish a high school or college Democratic club, or even launch their own political career. And we'll provide interns with a great Letter of Recommendation. MARCH FOR OUR LIVES AND WEAR ORANGE WEEKEND
Last week we grieved with you over the tragic and senseless loss of life in Uvalde, Texas. We're still grieving. But we're also taking action.
Saturday, June 11 from 10a-12p ET, it's time to March For Our Lives. (Click HERE to watch Emma Gonzalez's powerful speech from the first march in 2018).
As we did in 2018, we march in cities across the country to demand a nation free of gun violence. And to help make that dream a reality, we're asking you to bring stacks of our new Magic Registration Cards (see Breaking News above) so we can channel righteous anger into votes against awful Republicans. And remember: June 3-5 is Wear Orange Weekend. This weekend commemorates Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year old girl who was shot and killed on a Chicago playground in 2013. Hadiya’s friends started honoring her life by wearing orange, the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others. Wear Orange is now observed every June when thousands of people don the color to honor Hadiya and the more than 40,000 people who are killed with guns and approximately 85,000 who are shot and wounded every year. HATCH YOUR OWN
FIELD TEAM 6 CHAPTER*!
As the make-or-break midterms loom, there’s no better time to assemble your peeps into a new Field Team 6 chapter, come up with a name for your merry band of activists, and lead them to register Democrats and defend democracy!
Your chapter can be in-person or virtual. It can draw from a geographic base (e.g. FT6 Five Points Atlanta)... an ethnic group (FT6 Chinese-Americans for Democracy)... or even an alumni pool (FT6 Notre Dame Fighting Democrats).
Your community might be tiny at first. That’s cool. As long as you’re engaging and registering people, you’re making a difference!
Field Team 6 makes it easy-peasy to get going. We can help you create a Slack channel on the FT6 workspace to organize and communicate with your chapter members. (You might find other chapters to join there, too.) We have a calendar of upcoming events your chapter can join. We have training sessions and materials to get you started phonebanking, textbanking, postcarding, and social storming. Questions? Reach out to Partnerships@FieldTeam6.org.
With FT6’s mountainous database, we might be able to create lists so you can contact and register members of your community you don't even know about yet, laying the foundation for victory in November. Help us defend our Senate majority, our House majority, our democracy itself.

URGENT CALL TO ACTION:
HOLD A PRIDE DRIVE IN JUNE
June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month – and Pride events are the number one places to register eager new Democrats, bar none. We'd love small or large groups of our awesome volunteers to head to Pride Events around the country, and represent!
Not only is this the best place to sign up new progressive voters, it's also a great way to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community. And if you can get to a Pride Event in any of our 9 target states: AZ, CA, FL, GA, NC, NV, PA, TX and WI... so much the better!
Here’s just one of many Pride Event Calendars you can find online. REMEMBER: people at Pride events are friendly, so it’s also the most fun place to register new Democrats. And the voters we register here could decide who wins in November! And as you may have read above... we even have the wonderful Cathy O'Krent, reachable at HelpMyDrive@FieldTeam6.org, who can walk you through how to set up your first in-person voter registration drive.

This week, FT6 is rolling out the Red Carpet of Appreciation for an amazing volunteer, Carolyn Donegan, who keeps busy doing home renovations, babysitting her granddaughters, consulting for an ad agency, and working to save democracy.
In addition to voting rights, Carolyn is passionate about reproductive rights and healthcare – all of which the GOP is trying to take away. Carolyn lives in Atlanta and points out that 1.5 million in her state have no health insurance.
"The Trump cult and the MAGA movement is horrifying to me. Democrats want a country that works for people and makes their lives better. The only thing Dems can do more to prove that is to win more elections."
Activism is something new for Carolyn, and she's not a big fan of phonebanking or in-person registration. So she contributes her strengths to Field Team 6, including the digital communication and organizational skills she honed in the ad world.
She works on our voter registration portal Voterizer.org, making state by state updates, and the Partnership Program, helping create tracking systems for partnership activities. She's worked with her ad agency coworkers to make posters for FT6 super volunteer Dr. Harvey Kaufman's GA voter registration drives. And she's also making it happen behind the scenes on our partner organization SoCal Blue's groundbreaking Blue Voter Guide.
Carolyn has had a long career in advertising, starting "before Al Gore invented the internet." But she's slowly phasing out ad work as she slides into retirement, where she hopes to do more of her passion projects like painting, knitting, and fighting climate change by riding an e-bike instead of driving a car.
She relishes every moment of volunteering – even the time she got kicked off campus during a registration drive – because she knows the stakes are so high. "We are on the brink of losing democracy as we know it. I want to be sure that I've done / am doing everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen."
Carolyn, we salute your dedication to the cause and your dreams of a brighter future for the next generation. And we're honored to be working side-by-side with you (and trying to keep up with you!) in 2022.
