The Message this Week

Preaching Text: 7:18-35

Behaving like children!  John’s disciples come to Jesus to get some clarity about the ministry He has been up to. It gives Jesus a chance to remind the crowds (including those Pharisees watching in the back of the crowd) of the things that they have seen: a variety of healings, spirits cast out…even someone raised from the dead. Interesting…they’d rather talk about who is fasting and who is a glutton, making it clear that Jesus and John really can’t do anything to measure up. I wonder if we ever focus on the wrong things and miss Jesus’ work around us?

Good and gracious God, help us not to be distracted but to focus on Your acts of power and healing all around us, especially those that happen in ways we do not expect. Give us hearts and eyes to see You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

What’s the difference between faith and religion?

Not even Pastor Trudy is immune from scam texts from "Pastor Trudy Stoffel"!

Remember that neither Pastor Trudy nor GLC staff will EVER ask for things like gift cards or account numbers. If you’re ever uncertain, a call to Pastor Trudy or the office should clear it up quickly. And clicking "Report Junk" does help! Thanks for your understanding.
