Landmarks Commission to Take Second Vote on
Historic District Extensions on West End Avenue

On June 25, 2013, the Landmarks Preservation Commission will vote on the West End-Collegiate HD Extension! (W. 70th - 79th Sts. - click here for the map of the proposed boundaries). This is the second of three votes concerning the proposed historic district extensions anchored by West End Avenue. Join LW! and be there for the discussion and the vote!

Attend the public meeting, show your silent support and observe this vote by the LPC. Public attendance is incredibly valuable, but please note that public testimony is not taken at public meetings.
In 2011 (see below)testimony was taken at public hearings by the LPC regarding these three historic district extensions:
Riverside West End HD Extension I: Public Hearing March 22, 2011
Public Meeting June 26th, 2012-DESIGNATED.
This vote added approximately 194 new landmarks between 79th and 87th Streets to our noble roster of 2700 buildings!
West End-Collegiate HD Extension: Public Hearing June 28th, 2011
Public Meeting June 25th 2013, LPC will vote
Riverside West End HD Extension II: Public Hearing October 25th, 2011

West Siders came out in full force and added their voices to the public record of support for the three extensions. LW! encourages any and all to attend the meeting for the West End-Collegiate HD Extension on June 25th 2013.
The Upper West Side is grateful for the long-time support of our local elected officials, whose support the West End Preservation Society (WEPS) secured in early 2008.

Sign the petition! Now-today if possible. Add your name to the list of those who support the West End Avenue HD Extensions. Encourage your friends and neighbors to sign as well-it makes a big difference.
Email the LPC, and copy your elected official(s)! Tell them you support their efforts to expand existing historic districts anchored by West End Avenue. Here's how to do it!
