It's "Back to School" time for the children in our Afghan families! Two of the youngest boys will be in Head Start programs and four will be attending Lebanon City Schools: 2 boys at Bowman, 1 boy at Donovan, and 1 girl at Lebanon Junior High. The list of needed supplies (and quantities) listed at the Sign-Up Genius link below are based on school supply lists from the schools. Let’s make sure that all these children are well-supplied for their adventures in learning! Look for collection bins in the Welcome Center on Sundays or bring to the church office during the week.

Nursery Ministry Assistant Needed 
Beginning in August, the church will be in need of a Nursery Ministry Assistant. The Nursery Ministry Assistant is the warm and welcoming face of LPC for families of infants and young children. The assistant is expected to interact with and gently care for the children under their supervision. For more details about expectations, see the job description below. This person is responsible for being present for assigned shifts in the nursery on Sunday mornings and for possible other shifts that require childcare on Wednesday Nights or at other times.

Nursery Ministry Leader Needed
The church is currently in need of a Nursery Ministry Leader. The Nursery Ministry Leader is responsible for the recruitment, coordination, and training of volunteers for the nursery as well as for other child care needs of the church. This person is also responsible for maintaining the nursery and family rooms, including monitoring supplies, cleaning, and various other duties. This is an 8 hour a week position.

Women’s Ministry Mission Project

The majority of the 50 women that attended this year’s Women’s Retreat at LPC
expressed interest in our summer mission project and we need even more. Join
us in the Ark on Saturday August 13th at 9:00 a.m. for cutting, assembling and
sewing reusable cloth feminine hygiene materials for women who do not have
access to these necessary products around the world.

We will have a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided.

Please start collecting materials now and bring them with you August 13th
Materials Needed – Towels or washcloths (new or used) - Flannel cloth (like
flannel sheets) - Thread - Black sharpies - Good scissors – Sewing machines
NOTE* Used towels and flannel are fine. Things can be new as well, but it
would be nice if they were all washed.

We are looking for a fun, energetic person who loves to work with kids! Join our close knit, cooperative team. We offer paid holidays, vacation and sick days, free lunches, and flexible scheduling. Our hours are 6:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, so the work hours will be during this time. We offer childcare to children 3 years old up through 6th grade and preschool for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. 

The only education requirement is a high school degree, but any experience in Early Childhood related fields or any education in that field is beneficial. Background checks are required (we pay for this), and a medical statement and shot records are also required. We will provide training and pay for your time to take any classes needed. We need a full-time person or 2 part time people. We are also always looking for substitutes.
The person selected for this position will be responsible for the general supervision and management of the childcare center children. Your duties could range from playing games with the kids, teaching a preschool class, supervising naps, to filling in for the cook to help cook lunch for the kids.
