Hello Feeder Principals for Ponderosa High School,

This is Jadan Allen, and I am currently taking Collaboration and Innovation in the 21st Century, a service-learning class at Ponderosa High School. Currently, we are organizing a community carnival whose proceeds will benefit Parker Task Force, a local food bank. Poverty and hunger in Parker are much bigger issue than most people realize, and this carnival will bring extra funds to a charity that will use them well, raise awareness about the issue, and help those in need to learn more about how they can receive help.

The event will take place on November 16th from 12-2 pm. Each activity at Ponderosa will sponsor a different carnival event, and some will have bakes sales. In order to get into the event, participants will either have to pay $10 or bring and donate 3 items from Parker Task Force’s online needs list, which is linked here . They will be able to play unlimited games.

In order to make this event a success, we are inviting all of Ponderosa’s feeder schools to advertise this event to their students. Attached to this email is a digital poster. Please send this digital poster out in your electronic updates, or any other way you see fit. It would also be awesome if you could print out and post a couple of them around your school. Also, under this paragraph is a short description that can be included in any announcements your school does. 

CI21, a service learning class at Ponderosa, is hosting a carnival on November 16th from 10-2. There will be lots of carnival games, food, and fun! Be sure to bring either $10 to get in or 3 items from the Parker Task Force’s online need list, which is at https://www.parkertaskforce.org/needs.htm . All proceeds will go to Parker Food Task Force.
