The fair will feature our 10th graders' Personal Projects, a sustained inquiry project into a topic representing the student's interest or passion. Some students will present on the auditorium stage, while other students' projects will be displayed on tables around the auditorium.

Our 10th graders have been working on their projects for months, and their time and dedication shows in their final products. We hope you are able to come and see what our students have learned about their passions, and perhaps you will learn something new too!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Every issue, we highlight a member of the LPHS staff, so students, families, and the greater community can learn about one of our own. In this edition of the LPHS Digital Newsletter, we are shining the Spotlight on:
Chris Merle
Q: How long have you been at LPHS?
This is my tenth year at Lincoln Park High School.

Q: What is your favorite Chicago leisure activity?
I enjoy playing beach volleyball, running along the lake shore path, and exploring new restaurants with my wife during Restaurant Week.

Q: What was your 1st job?
My first job was delivering newspapers. I believe I started doing that when I was in sixth grade.

Q: What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is Pizza!

Q: Cubs or White Sox?
I was born and raised a Cubs fan. I can't wait for baseball season to begin again!

Chris grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. He is the oldest of three brothers and all of his family still lives in northern Illinois. Chris went to St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin and majored in English. He taught English at a little Catholic school after graduation. While Chris really enjoyed working with middle school students, he knew that he wanted to be a school counselor. Chris moved back to Chicago and attended Loyola University, Chicago for his Master's in School Counseling. Chris did his internship at LPHS and was so excited to return to Lincoln Park as a full-time counselor once a job opened up. He really enjoy working with all of the faculty, staff, and students at Lincoln Park and is always looking for ways to better serve the school community. Chris is so proud to be a part of the LPHS family and looks forward to what the future brings. Go Lions!

Thanks, Chris!
