As we work to provide the best education possible for our students under extraordinary circumstances, a strong partnership between home and school has never been more important. LPS Leads is a new district publication dedicated to communicating information to families to help them navigate the ever-changing world of remote and hybrid learning. LPS Leads is a vehicle to allow our educational team to highlight new information, share innovations, and enhance the home-learning experience. Some topics covered in this newsletter are provided by our staff, and some are inspired by community members in response to the feedback, questions, suggestions, and input received through our LPSvirtual@livingston.org email exchange. Thank you for taking the time to “click through” LPS Leads; a learning tool to help our school community continue navigating new ways to empower all to learn, create, contribute, and grow.
Please be advised that students and/or parents are prohibited from recording or taking photos of students/staff during Remote Learning sessions (See Policy #5516). In addition to protecting the privacy rights of pupils and school staff members, such recordings can be disruptive to the educational experience. We ask that all members of the LPS community please be mindful of this rule.
Student Workspace Tips
A carefully-designed work space is essential to the learning process. Educators and students alike need to consider the various experiences that Remote Learning presents and plan a work space that will anticipate the demands that can emerge during the day. Parents have been inundated with the message to “identify a designated space that is free from distractions” in their homes, but what does that really mean? Find out HERE.
Assessment Strategies
The district's educators are continually working on ways to improve student assessments during Remote/Hybrid Learning. Learn more about the assessment types, challenges, and the tools our educators are using HERE.
Transition to Hybrid
We are pleased to inform you that we are continuing to make progress with regards to our transition to the hybrid model of instruction in the Livingston Public Schools. Please read the letterthat Dr. Block sent on September 24, 2020 for information on schedules, bussing, secondary staffing, and Election Day.
