LPTV INDUSTRY NEWS
Thursday - Jan. 15, 2015

JUST BREAKING....There is a lot of news to catch up on in the land of LPTV, but we will first start off with the announcement that on February 10th, 2015, the FCC Media Bureau and Video Division will host the long awaited and anticipated "FCC LPTV Webinar" related to the Incentive Auction and LPTV.  With the LPTV NPRM comments and reply comments submitted by then, the FCC will know what to talk with our industry about.  So mark your new calendars for that date.  When the Chief of the Media Bureau called to tell us the news we requested that the industry could submit questions ahead of time, as well as during the event.

and now a really special announcement...

LPTV NPRM COMMENT CYCLE CONTINUES
This week around 60 groups submitted official comments into the FCC 3rd NPRM proceedings.  Including the NPRM itself, this is about 500 pages of reading materials to get though, analyze, and write reply comments to.  and it has to all be done within two weeks.  While we are doing this ourselves, we know this can be hard for many of you, especially with all of those PDFs to download and keep track of.

So we have complied all 500 pages of the comments into a single PDF, organized them by the type of submitter, such as:
-  Industry Groups
-  Licensees
-  PBS/CPB/APTS
-  Manufacturers
-  Channel-6
-  The NPRM document

Click here to be taken to the LPTV NPRM Resources page we have set up with this document and all others you will need to research your comments.

INDUSTRY STATISTICS AVAILABLE

Do you know how many LPTV and TV translator stations, licenses, and permits were bought and sold in 2014 (hint, about 200)?  By whom?  And for how much?  If you would like to have this data, and to support our LPTV research and advocacy work here in DC, then think about buying the Coalition's LPTV 2014 Transactions Report.  For $50 you get valuable industry information and help us conduct further research about what is going on in LPTV land.  The PDF Report will be emailed to you later this week.
