COALITION COMMENTARY
What a bunch of corporate welfare dudes!  They talk about lossening up the regulatory regime so that they keep getting guaranteed checks from the networks.  And then now want to go nationwide!  These full power stations can not survive without the retrans and they know it.  Maybe it is time to break them up, as they will never go to 3.0 as long as this free money comes to them.  And how many of these exec's are even thinking about using LPTV for 3.0, none of them!  And take that UHF discount off the table and maybe then they will want to buy LPTV spectrum assets.  Take away retrans and you got nothing but a lot of personnel and debt, and Wall Street will not even talk with you! So fed up with these dudes!

Two VHF LPTV stations, one licensed, and other a displacement CP for NYC DMA. They are ready to be built out and programmed to reach over 13 million ATSC 1.0 pops, and many more for 3.0.

All offers considered.  Motivated seller.

SINCLAIR SENIOR EXEC GOES NATIVE IN INDIA WHILE 3.0 IS DELAYED BY YEARS!

COALITION COMMENTARY
No wonder 3.0 is being held back on adoption.  The leading advocates are partying in India!  Oh, of course, Sinclair's SVP Aitken was visiting the Indian company assisting them on 3.0 and 5G software and products, but really?  And where the heck is that Dallas SFN report, and for that matter whatever happened in DC and Baltimore?  And why did we rush to adopt the 3.0 rules when these primary stations were never going to go 3.0 anytime soon?

This LPTV displacement CP in DMA #4, is being offered for sale through an FCC appointed receiver.  All legal challenges have been cleared and this property needs to be sold asap.  All offers considered.  No equipment, no tower lease, just the license and new permit.

Hey Pearl, why not LPTV in the Phoenix tests! Our 6 MHz is as good as yours, just a little less power.  And forget these channel sharing agreements!  Do you really think the corporate welfare dudes are going to agree on sharing any pie at all!!!!!  Sounds like an FTC antitrust case to me, unless you include LPTV!

COALITION COMMENTARY
As regular readers of this rag will know that we have been highly critical of Microsoft over the years, especially on this TV White Space situation.  But today, we are 10000000% behind their call to not have the corporate welfare dudes get another free channel for 3.0 since they forgot to plan for it!  And we will also be fighting against NAB and the primaries about this, really, another channel? Again, another nail in the antitrust case.

COALITION COMMENTARY
Will someone in the Video Division and Media Bureau tell the Chairman's staff that over 1250 LPTV stations are still waiting for funding to transition and repack, so that 66% number is not so accurate!  Why do I even have to talk about this?

COALITION COMMENTARY
Good article Class-A and LPTV station owners.  2020 will be the biggest political ad year yet, and you can easily undercut the prices the primaries charge.  Don't forget, it is not just about "reach", it is about "frequency", and you can get 10X LPTV spots for the price of a primary station spot!  Go for it!

Smart move APTS, and one which LPTV early 3.0 adopters should be doing right now!

COALITION COMMENTARY
Wow, the price for LPTV just went through the roof, thanks Gray TV!  Let's see, 45,000 pops, divided into $75k = $1.67 a pop!  Thanks!

MICHAEL KARR D/B/A WVUX-LD V. DIRECTV, LLC AND DISH NETWORK L.L.C.
Denied both the Petition for Declaratory Ruling and the Demand for Carriage. (Dkt No 18-274). Action by: Senior Deputy Chief, Policy Division, Media Bureau. Adopted: 2019-10-23 by MO&O

From a comm counsel familiar with the situation...
"WVUX-LD seems to argue that the Constitution overrides the statute and should give the station must-carry on DirecTV and DISH. FCC says sorry, no deal.  See footnote 12, referring to a GAO report that erroneously says that qualified LPTVs have both cable and satellite must-carry rights."
