BOTH CLASS A COURT OF APPEALS CASES, AS WELL AS THE LPTV CASES, HAVE NOW FILED STAY'S OF THE AUCTION - COURT OF APPEALS SCHEDULES RAPID SCHEDULE TO AVERT A DELAY
In rapid succession, the FCC rejected the Videohouse et al request for a stay of the auction until the cases against it is resolved. So yet another filing for a stay of the incentive auction has been filed in the Court of Appeals. And the FCC has nobody to blame but itself for this bottleneck of cases.
BROADCASTERS REPACKING AMENDMENT TO MOBILE NOW BILL DEFEATED
CONCERNS ABOUT NOT YET KNOWING AUCTION RESULTS, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHAT WILL BE THE IMPACTS TO LPTV & TV TRANSLATORS?
COALITION COMMENTARY
Yet again the NAB lobbying team has purposely excluded LPTV and translators from their 2nd attempt to get additional relocation funding for their members. And just as in the House, where they are betting on the Viewer Protection Act of 2016 (NAB member viewers, not LPTV viewers). But just as in the House, the Senate Subcommittee wants to want until they see what happens with the band plan and then the auction. And when appropriate, both chambers of Congress will have to include fixes for the impacts on LPTV and translators. Deal with it.
