Frank "SuperFrank" Copsidas

Founder and Board Chair of the LPTV Broadcasters Association

Dear Friends,

I’m officially off the grid in my family’s hometown in Greece until IBC in Amsterdam. No inbox. No Zoom. No “quick question.” If the FCC calls, they’ll have to leave a message with a goat.

The plan is simple: family, village life, and just enough rest so I don’t show up in Amsterdam looking like I fought a translator and lost. If you’re at IBC, please stop by booth 1.F37 and say hi. I promise I will have returned from the Mediterranean and will once again speak fluent broadcast.

While I’m gone, do yourself a favor and watch our September podcast. It will keep you glued to your computer screen. LOL. Consider it my gift to anyone who still thinks “vacation” means answering emails from a beach chair.

I’ll be back in two weeks with my regular news, thoughts, and the usual amount of SuperFrank energy. Until then, try not to auction off the industry without me.

See you at 1.F37 — or after the goats give me my phone back.

SuperFrank

Media brokerage and spectrum expert Stephan Sloan, joined "SuperFrank" Copsidas and Bill Christian for a high-value conversation about the rapidly evolving value of LPTV spectrum.

LPTVBA Podcast, Season 1, Episode 4 with Stephan Sloan

From the lifting of the freeze to the possibility of another spectrum auction, this episode looks at why outside investors are beginning to recognize what LPTV broadcasters have known all along: this “beachfront spectrum” holds tremendous potential.

At the IBC (the international version of the NAB) XGN will be unveiling three new 5G Broadcast products: Arthur (the receiver software), Beacon (the brains—the 5G Broadcast core, with or without an exciter), and Charlie, the first commercial 5G Broadcast receiver. Yes, those are the real names. No, we will not explain them yet. Want to see pictures of our new XGN children? Take a peek!
