Georgia O’Keeffe, ‘Ram’s Head White Hollyhock and Little Hills,’ 1935 (Brooklyn Museum)

Your PTA donations hard at work…Art Masters is back! We are thrilled to have this wonderful program back at LRES. The artist this month is Georgia O’Keefe. Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) was an American artist who was inspired by the desert landscape. She used scale and color for emphasis in her artwork.
During extended learning, students will have the opportunity to watch an online lecture and art lesson. Teachers will post the links in Canvas.

Option A students, your Extended Learning Teacher will provide the supplies. The lesson and lecture are planned for the week of November 9th.
Option B students, we will be providing a supply pick up. Please come by the school parking lot on Monday, 11/9 at 2:45-4:00 pm. If you cannot make the supply pick up or are not comfortable with an in person pick up, we will have supplies located in the library foyer November 10th.
Option C students, supply bags will be in the school foyer beginning Friday, November 6th.

The YMCA of Orange County has a strong tradition and positive reputation of working closely with local school districts and community organizations in the promotion of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA is the largest provider of licensed childcare services in Orange County caring for over 5,000 children per day pre-covid. This includes a long-standing partnership with Capistrano Unified School District for over 30 years providing on campus childcare for every elementary school and multiple middle schools.

Our overall program goals are to provide students with a robust, engaging, safe, quality program by offering activities that are developmentally appropriate and customized based on age groups, abilities, and student’s needs. The YMCA offers a holistic approach to a child’s development by providing real life context to information learned in the classroom. We believe by supporting the local school, children will experience success.
