Lehigh Business Supply Chain Risk Management Index

The LRMI Risk Report for Q4 2026 shows a slight drop in the average risk index to 68.99, though Transportation Disruption, Economic, Cybersecurity, and Government Intervention risks remain key concerns.

While transportation and economic pressures are expected to worsen most in the next three months, Government Intervention Risk emerged as the top overall concern when head-to-head comparisons were made. Supply chain leaders view policy and tariff uncertainty as their primary challenge because it directly impacts sourcing, pricing, and operational decisions upstream.

One of the advantages of regularly examining supply chain risk is to consider how these risks change over time. The table below shows the changing levels of risk across the 10 different areas of the supply chain this last year. It is also insightful to see that some areas of the supply chain are consistently seen as high risk and other areas of the supply chain are seen as as lower risk over the same 1-year time period.
