If you have an interest in monument preservation within rights of way please attend the upcoming public meeting concerning WAC 332-120-080. This proposed addition to WAC 332-130 will, if implemented, facilitate the use of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU)s between the Department of Natural Resources and local agencies. The goal of the change is to allow local governments to annually plan and report preserved survey monuments through the temporary removal or destruction permit required in RCW 58.24.040. This amendment and the MOUs will be used to coordinate survey monument perpetuation/preservation efforts with roadway chip seal resurfacing projects.
