• The LSAW Executive Committee and Board of Directors continue to conduct LSAW business via Zoom video conference during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • LSAW has advocated for the profession throughout the stay at home orders, sending letters to the Governor and launching a page on the LSAW website which provides information and resources regarding COVID-19.
  • The Board authorized the Executive Committee to make a decision in July regarding holding the November 13-14 Fall Workshop in-person or virtually. If we are unable to hold meetings in November, we can move forward with a virtual platform to provide educational opportunities to LSITs.
  • The 2021 Conference will be at the Hilton in Vancouver, WA on March 3-5 and the 2022 Conference will be in the Spokane area.
  • Help build the 2022 Transformation Tool, get out and collect GPS on benchmarks. Tom Barger is coordinating this effort for Washington State. Deadline is December 2021.

  • The Board of Registration has hired a deputy director.  
  • Look for the latest Evergreen State Surveyor (ESS) magazine in your mailbox soon.
  • All LSAW Committees are looking for member participation. If you are interested in serving on a committee please email info@lsaw.org
  • The DNR Survey Advisory Board recently published “Did You Know” articles on “Quarter/Quarter Indexing” and “Correcting a Minor Scrivener’s Error”
  • NSPS 2020 Day on the Hill and Spring Meeting were canceled due to COVID-19 and a virtual NSPS Board meeting was held instead on April 17, 2020. NSPS will continue to look into ways to hold a virtual lobby day.
  • The TrigStar Coordinator position remains vacant. Executive Director Crissy Willson served as interim Chair for 2020 and has worked to streamline the program so it is easier for the next person that volunteers to lead this committee.
  • The next WFPS meeting was scheduled for June 27th in Salt Lake City but has transitioned to a virtual platform due to COVID-19 outbreak.
  • Chapters are encouraged to set up virtual meetings during Stay at Home order. If you have questions on how to do so, or need assistance in setting up meetings, please contact Crissy.
  • Next Board meeting will be August 15, 2020 in Tacoma or via Zoom Video Conference.
