It was a great turnout for the 2022 IceHawk Honor Awards last week! The banquet was held at Greysolon Ballroom and included a social, a performance by the LSC Choir and dinner. Honor Awards were presented to students in recognition of their leadership skills, academic achievements and commitment to their programs and to Lake Superior College. Final Day of the Spring Student Art Show | |
Lake Superior College's 2022 Spring Student Art Show is happening now, where more than 200 students enrolled in LSC’s popular art courses are displaying their artwork in the categories of Drawings, Paintings, Ceramics, Sculpture, Metal Art and Jewelry, Watercolors, Digital Photography and Digital Paintings. Some items are also priced for sale. The show takes place at LSC’s main concourse until 9:00 p.m. tonight. See story on Fox21. | |
Mini Ponies and More During Stress Less Week | |
Stress Less Days are underway, with a variety of offerings to help students de-stress the week before finals. LSC's Health Services planned lots of fun activities designed to promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Major attractions so far have been a visit from mini ponies Spirit and Gracie (see story on Fox21), as well as a ping pong tournament and the always popular chair massages by LSC massage therapy students. Thank you to Whole Foods Co-op for stopping by to show us how to make healthy energy bites, too! Stress Less Days conclude on Thursday with yoga at the Wellness Center and coffee with LSC Support Services. Details at lsc.edu/HealthServices.

Spring Choir Concert Tomorrow | |
The campus and community are invited to Lake Superior College's Spring Choir Concert on Thursday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m., in the LSC Commons on main campus. Special guests are the Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College Choir.
Another live presentation by the Music Department is an upcoming performance of The History of Rock and Roll. A band comprised of LSC students called Sckraan9jaambe will present music through the decades leading up to today's rock/pop music. The presentation will be Tuesday, May 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the LSC Commons. The public is invited.

Lake Superior College’s Spring Open House is this Friday, May 6, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tour the beautiful main campus to learn about Lake Superior College’s 90+ programs or how you can start here and save thousands by completing your generals at Lake Superior College. - Stress Less Days run through May 5, with a variety of offerings to promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The final day of activities includes yoga and coffee and conversation with LSC Support Services. View the schedule.
- Lake Superior College’s 17th annual Robot Wars competition will return to LSC's Duluth Downtown Center, 120 N. Second Avenue West on Thursday, May 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., where student-built/engineered robots will fight to be the last bot standing. Competing schools will be Lake Superior College, Proctor and Mesabi East, with a total of seven robots.
- You are invited to the LSC Spring Choir Concert on Thursday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m., in the LSC Commons. Special guests are the Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College Choir.
- Summer textbooks will be available starting May 16, 2022. Shop a week early, online only, starting May 9. More at lsc.edu/textbooks.

- Lake Superior College will hold 2022 Spring Commencement ceremonies on Monday, May 16. The Nursing Pinning will take place at at Symphony Hall at 11:00 a.m. and the Commencement Ceremony take place at 2:00 p.m. at Amsoil Arena. Speakers will include Student Senate President Ijshanita Dunigan, Minnesota State Board of Trustee Roger Moe and Keynote Speaker Tom Sega, President and CEO of Duluth Pack.
- Get ahead, stay on track, or accelerate your degree with summer classes at LSC. Classes start June 6. Visit lsc.edu/register.
- Summer Camps and Career Exploration for youth ages 12-18 start in June. Offerings include Computer Aided Design/SolidWorks + Revit, GenCyber Intro, Robotics and Welding. The camps are free and space is limited. More at lsc.edu/camps.
- Applications are being accepted for the Practical Nursing Diploma to start Fall Semester 2022. The application is open until filled. Apply at lsc.edu/ApplyToNursing.
- The application for Professional Nursing AS to start Fall Semester 2022 will be open until May 20, 2022. Apply at lsc.edu/ApplyToNursing.
- Applications are being accepted for the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program to start Fall Semester 2022. There is a critical personnel shortage for medical laboratory technicians, with significant sign-on bonuses being offered locally and regionally. The application is open until filled. Apply at www.lsc.edu/ApplyToMLT.
- Physical Therapist Assistant applications are open for Fall 2022. Apply online at lsc.edu/ApplyToPTA.
- Applications for the Respiratory Therapy program to start Fall Semester 2022 are being accepted now until filled. Apply at lsc.edu/RespiratoryTherapy.
- Applications for the Surgical Technology program to start Fall Semester 2022 are being accepted. Priority will be given to students who have prerequisites completed and apply by March 1. The application is open until filled. For more information and to apply, visit lsc.edu/surgtech.
