It's already Week 3 at LSC!

Lake Superior College In The News!
LSC faculty, staff and students continue to shine in the local (and statewide) news. Check out these stories below, which include some great quotes from employees AND students at LSC, like “I’m comfortable here” and “it feels good to be back in class.” We’re thrilled to have students back in classes too, both on campus and online. We're so proud of our students, faculty and staff and how well everyone is adjusting to this unique time. Thank you for helping spread the positive news about LSC on your social media pages and with friends and family.

Upcoming Events and
Campus Updates

  • There continues to be an increasing number of students seeking emergency grants and/or loans from the LSC Foundation. There's also increased demand in the LSC Food Shelf, and supplies are running low. If you're able, will you please consider donating to the LSC Foundation and/or donating non-perishable and non-expired food items? Donations can be made online and food items can be dropped off in Student Life. Thank you for helping support our students! Any questions? Email

  • The Eco-Entrepreneurship Department will sell fresh produce every Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30 - 4:00 p.m., in the LSC Commons.

  • September 14-18 is Professional Fluency Week, an opportunity for faculty and staff to discuss professional expectations with students and student workers. This semester's focus is on the concept of timeliness (avoiding procrastination), which employers, educators and students have identified as one of four critical aspects of professionalism (communication, timeliness, respect, and taking personal responsibility).

  • Faculty and staff, please consider submitting a session proposal for the fully online Student Success Day scheduled for September 30. Topics related to our current situation and the unique stresses our students are facing are especially encouraged. Submit your proposal using this brief online form

If you have upcoming events, story ideas, or pictures you'd like included in future editions of the newsplash please send them to

Also, please remember to complete the online COVID-19 Self-Assessment each day you plan on being on campus. Thank you!
